i don't know it sounded cool to me, just with what i've heard. but i found out from this website aiden.vzz.net it shows what to do basically for Aenima and undertow too.

Futuro 07-22-2005 02:44 AM

ya we know

oh by the way, my feet suck so "part of me" came out.....blah......i wish my feet were more accurate and speedy....aenima also involves 16th note triplets, which are gonna be a beast to pull off for me, (if there was a way to hit the bass drums with my hands i would have tried it) :)

the_Leperakorn 07-22-2005 03:34 AM

Why wouldn't I be serious? I've read it in interviews. but the reason i said "cant say the same for danny" is because everyone knows that guy still enjoys his DMT. Maynard hasnt dropped acid or smoked weed in god knows how long, same with Adam. they all said they are introduced to that level of thinking and try to rereach that level without the use of the drug and its all about using your 3rd eye.

If your talking about the 'learn to swim....' part, it's really very simple once your able to co-ordinate your hands and feet for the H-F-F H-F-F...pattern.

Mother_Of_Abominations 07-22-2005 06:33 AM

just a little off topic, but I hope Tool's new cd comes out earlier than 2006.

true.

Faith!

If you get the drum track for aenima recorded, will you be ok about entering it in the July Cover competition?...it would be a collaboration, all that would be needed is a bass part, I should be able to get the vocals done, and I already have the guitar..

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 11:06 AM

Marshall- Did you upload Part of Me?

My favourite tool rumour atm
...-..--.-- is the name of Danny's new daughter. They didn't send out
birth announcements because this one was strictly for eating, she's
going to be Thanksgiving dinner this year for the band.

Because, as everyone knows, they eat babies.

Don't ask me how/why I know this, I just have a wonderful friend.

They even said they'd save me a drumstick!
clearvision 07-22-2005 11:24 AM

Ah it's all so clear now.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 11:27 AM

Ok, I have an empty house, what is there to be recorded? I could redo Stinkfist, and hope that it will magically sync up with Expresso's drum track, but I won't be using flange, so should I wait and do something else?

I just wanna record right now. :(

Mr Herb 07-22-2005 11:35 AM

You mind doing some apc?

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 11:43 AM

Well, I could learn one, but I have an open house now, so I want to get something recorded, but yeah. The Package, right? I'll get a tab for it.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-22-2005 11:44 AM

Do Judith. Its good practice for sliding, which you'll need when you record Ænema

Or the noose :thumb: thx

The pakage has 3 gutiars. . .

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 11:48 AM

/wants to record Tool

I know the Package is multitracked, but I do that anyways(or most of the time) when I record, so that wouldn't be a problem.

14k wooo

Great. Am gonna upload the bass part I recorded a while ago. I messed uo at the end but Ill re recorded it again, its very easy.

Also I did not tune properly or anything, I just picked up the bass and recorded, in fact I think its un tuned so it might sound like crap

Did you detune, the package is played in DB Gb B E tuning, whatever that is...

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-22-2005 12:01 PM

1.5 steps down?

Don't make my guitar cry, please. :-/

Hehe, this is why i don't play much APC...If i wanna play that low I'll buy a bass.

I need to get a bass actually, i think it'll be intresting/easy to pick up...

TBH tuning may not matter to you, but to me and definateley others whose pitching skills are better than mine. It will matter, if your tunings are different it will sound rancid. See the fade to black cover in the cover competition, the guitar in the intro is slightly flat (i think it's flat anyways) and it sticks out like a sore thumb.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-22-2005 12:03 PM

Stealing my sisters when she goes away for 2 weeks. Ill see what I can learn off those nice thick strings.

Some APC songs can be done in standard, with difficulty. 3 Libras can, and so can Judith

clearvision 07-22-2005 12:05 PM

I wish i had siblings who played good instruments, my brother plays the piano, but he is worse than me. If only he played the drums, I'd be on them all the time hehe.
