I will reiterate this once again...

DO NOT CLICK ANY SUSPICIOUS LINKS.

A few more accounts were hacked today through this and spam has been posted.

NewKindofArmy03 07-30-2004 09:47 AM

i got hacked, but changed my password right away. can they still do anything with my account?

I don't think so, but I don't know for certain. In the past when a member changed their password they had no future problems so... it's likely you won't either.

Hey Mr. Light Man 07-30-2004 10:02 AM

/me no click teh links

What do you mean by suspicious links? I don't really see any because I keep my security settings high.

CommieCanada 07-30-2004 10:18 AM

guess who's back

JmE 07-30-2004 10:19 AM
What do you mean by suspicious links? I don't really see any because I keep my security settings high.
Links that people post on the forums. The one that was used this time was a link to an Ozzy site on tripod... they use links that redirect you to another web page that records your cookies which they can use to log into your account. (Or something like that, I don't know for sure) So, a suspicious link would be a link posted by a new member to a site like Tripod, Angelfire, etc. (Services that provide free webspace). If you're really interested in a link, log out before clicking it.

Alley McSqueal 07-30-2004 10:19 AM

You made a thread in pop punk that had a dangerous link in it and you probably didn't even notice.

JmE 07-30-2004 10:22 AM

Yea, I just saw that Superpeer

http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214847

That's what I'm talking about... it will probably be deleted soon enough so don't be surprised if it doesn't exist.
Oh yea... Don't click the link in that thread in case you haven't all ready heard.

How can I change my pass?

JmE 07-30-2004 10:33 AM
How can I change my pass?
Go to your user cp, then to Edit Profile. From there it's fairly self-explanatory, the top section has a button that links you to the page that allows you to change your password (and e-mail).

NakedRaygun872 07-30-2004 10:34 AM

Yeah I clicked on a lego guitar tripod site and got hacked.

art of losing 07-30-2004 10:36 AM

uh oh. i clicked on that too.

NakedRaygun872 07-30-2004 10:36 AM

Thanks for helping me catch it so quickly.

Yea I just saw that thread : - O
I've deleted it now though.

The link was http://www.freewebs.com/guitarguy-----.html right? I excluded the numbers on the end so no idiot would click it. I'll just use this as an example. The user who posted this was "Ozzy is Goddy" or something stupid like that. It's a link to a free webspace. Yea, don't click links like that without logging out and deleting your cookies.

NakedRaygun872 07-30-2004 10:41 AM

JmE 07-30-2004 01:00 PM

DBJ has been merging accounts and giving old accounts back to people who have shown a good record since their banning.

Hey Mr. Light Man 07-30-2004 01:05 PM

They ignored my post in that thread. heh

is that how you got all those posts that fast?

JmE 07-30-2004 01:59 PM
is that how you got all those posts that fast?
Yep... I merged my first account with this one. On my first one I had changed my e-mail and didn't receive a confirmation e-mail, so I couldn't operate my account and I made this one instead of waiting a few days for it to be solved.

sketchyjoe 07-30-2004 02:06 PM

Just how many accounts do Hey Mr Light Man and Renaissance have.

MightyMorphinPowerPepino 07-30-2004 02:15 PM

Dancing Queen is the scariest song ever, it always makes me think about death but in some weird way. It's hard to describe the feelings it brings out in me. I'm sure there is a tragedy behind that song. I need to find out!
