I can't believe I missed The Who and Floyd yesterday because I was helping my friend move into his apartment.

Some things are just more important than my best friend's life/future.

Stoic 07-03-2005 02:55 PM

of course not :p

Illmatic 07-03-2005 02:55 PM

They only showed one Who song (Won't Get Fooled Again), and they didn't even show the whole thing

NP: Tom Petty - You Got Lucky

ATM 07-03-2005 02:56 PM

You should have watched online. No commercials, etc

lunch998 07-03-2005 02:56 PM

I heard most of their performance on the radio as we were driving, it really sounded like they still had it.

ATM 07-03-2005 02:57 PM

Oh they definantly still have it.

By the way, I'm uploading the Floyd set from yesterday, so stay nearby.

Josh 07-03-2005 02:58 PM
You should have watched online. No commercials, etc
no commercials when i watched it, just presenters in between bands. got to watch the full Who set as well.

here can be found a post with a link to a video of PF's show. Right-click and save as the link.

ATM, what bitrate's the one you're uploading?

BoboTheRagingHobo 07-03-2005 02:58 PM
Oh.

I'm still completely lost as to the point, but different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Just think of it as a lame name for a fan group of the band, since the band plays off the gimmick of "hate" in their music, is where they got the hate crew thing from...

I find it stupid, but what ever heh.

NP - Vintersorg - A Microscopical Macrocosm

This song is to freakin' catchy.

http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/TillFjalls/ /not updating for some weird reason

Illmatic 07-03-2005 03:00 PM

Ohhhh...so the HateCrew are like Deadheads, but for Children of Bodom?

NP: Outkast/Raekwon - Skew It on the Bar-B-Q

Yeah, fans of the band basically.

ah, that's who added me...

I wondered who had such a brilliant music taste.

theCOB hate crew is a little like slipknot's "maggots" I would say....

Illmatic 07-03-2005 03:01 PM

Okay.

Well, I agree with Bobo. That's kinda lame.

Steerpike 07-03-2005 03:03 PM

Only nowhere near as lame.

128kbit

I can't stop listening to it.

lunch998 07-03-2005 03:05 PM

I'd rather be a hater than a maggot.

lol, i just watched a video of it at 103kbs, the sound was ok but the video was a bit glitchy.
Only nowhere near as lame.
indeed, the little kids that like slipknot are crap, I like slipknot, but not the fans

ATM 07-03-2005 03:27 PM

The Pink Floyd set:

Well, there's that. But I was thinking more of the fact that I'd rather be referred to as someone possibly psychotic than a white larva that feeds on carrion.
Well, there's that. But I was thinking more of the fact that I'd rather be referred to as someone possibly psychotic than a white larva that feeds on carrion.
really?
I'm totally the opposite... :p

BTW the graveworm cover of losing my religion may be the greatest cover ever done...

YDload 07-03-2005 04:39 PM

If I had a featured artist series in R&M, it would probably be called "Get a Dload of this!" or something equally retarded.

The original name means I will probably read it. I can't think of anything original with my name in it :upset:
MXican Radio.
MXico Radio?

1.Sounds like Mexico Radio
2.Rhymes

Steerpike 07-03-2005 04:49 PM

It was a play of words off the song by the cult rock group Wall of Voodoo. It was their only hit, and was later covered by Celtic Frsot.

lunch998 07-03-2005 04:51 PM

I think I'm going to run out of ideas on bands to do after only about 3-4 weeks of my series.
I think I'm going to run out of ideas on bands to do after only about 3-4 weeks of my series.
Just copy/paste your FA for one :p

I kind of head a series before when I made all those threads

Lord Abortion 07-03-2005 04:53 PM

Abortion's artists?

clearvision 07-03-2005 04:54 PM

...I think everyone is gonna run out of bands to do at the rate people are making threads...FA's were one thing, this is completeley another...

Not complaining, but soon people will be doing threads on everyone, it's good to be introduced to new bands...I really enjoyed Bartenders patton thread and a couple of others but soon i think there will be too many.

ATM 07-03-2005 04:55 PM

ArrestThisMan molests this band?

Six Foot Revolver 07-03-2005 04:55 PM
MXican Radio.
Mebbe I could do this and each week I could just upload tracks and put a bit about them :rubschininthoughtfulway:

That would be cool. An overview of the sound of a weekly band and a collection of uploads for the "radio" bit.

By the way, I felt like uploading Celtic Frost's cover of Mexican Radio since I don't have the original. It'll be ready in a couple minutes.

I decided to start up a series because I am the only one of the current group of people that will consistently do profiles on Classic rock artists. It seemed important that I represent that part of R&M while most others were focused on some part of metal.

I was more thinking random songs I had been digging over the week. Radio style some might say :rubschininthoughtfulway:

There you go.

Lord Abortion 07-03-2005 05:02 PM

I love blue streak...

anyone else watching it?

"who's this guy logan?"
" I dunno, all I know is he's gay... gay, gay, GAY!!"

Bartender 07-03-2005 05:04 PM
Maybe I could do a thread on Boy Hits Car. Now that band kicks some serious ***, but they only have one album out.
I believe they have a second now. It's self-released though, so it's only available from their website, I think. If this was a couple of years ago, I'd be really excited for it. As it is, I'll probably order it at some point, but without any real sense of anticipation.

Bought myself some CDs on the way home today;

Cocteau Twins - Victorialand
Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
Wu Tang Clan - 36 Chambers

Damn sales.

NP Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow (the album)

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-03-2005 05:11 PM

Bart- Really? I've been on their website and the only thing that they have on there is their S/T.

I'm checking now...

EDIT: Apparently, there is a new album in the works. Sound clips here

Bartender 07-03-2005 05:12 PM

I haven't actually been to the site to confirm it; I just read something about it on Miocene's forums. Let me know if it is actually there.
