you should, it's by far the best beatles album

and i'll listen to the song tomorrow, people are asleep here
Pfft, Sgt Peppers pwns.

Yeah, I messed up a lot, so it does to me...maybe I'm too much of a perfectionist, but...meh...such is improving solos.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:23 AM

I can never record stuff and be happy with it, because I'll notice every single little error. It has to be perfect, or I won't be happy with it. I'm only that way with guitar though.
Guitar influences:

Jeff Hanneman
Scott Ian
Gary Holt
Chuck Schuldiner
Bobby Gustafson
David Gilmore
Dimebag
Jim Durkin
Randy Rhoads

As you can see, I'm more of a rhythm guitarist than a lead.
Randy Rhoads and David Gilmore sure as hell aren't rhythm, I think those two alone balance out your lead and rhythm guitarness

I honeslty think that Sgt Peppers has a few good songs and the rest is just foolin around and/or stupid

I improve a lot too. I've only recorded two or three songs where i really practiced a solo, but i've gotten better at writing solos and tabbing what i play etc

Joe 02-05-2005 12:25 AM

ok ppl, it's 130 and i have to get a hair cut tomorrow (not all of it, just thinned...)

goodnight MX ppls

AH, I'm too much into the feel of the song to pre-plan...plus I suck at playing something pre-written, I like just doing what I'm feeling haha...I basically never play the same solo twice...unless it is really simple.

Yeah, I've never recorded drums so I couldn't say if I would be, but I'm willing to bet I would be...but ugh...so impossible to get 4 parts all in sync :(

I haven't really recorded anything but guitar, so I was refering to the other parts of my life. I'm sure I'd be the same way with most instruments though.

Kingofdudes 02-05-2005 12:35 AM

Save your money. Dont see Boogieman(sp?).

AH, I see...yeah, bout the same with me hah.

I rarely see movies in theaters, but especially lame looking ones :p

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:37 AM

AHH, I just saw that too. It was pretty intense, but definitely a waste of money.

Edit: about boogieman.

Same goes for me drum-wise. Most people I see taking lessons just go in a room for 30 minutes trying to learn some song or something. My teacher did it way differen't.

Everyday for something like 6 months he'd tell me to play some random beat. I sucked at this at first, but I got good at it after awhile. Then everyday He'd write down the random beat I' play, and then say to play it 3 times and to make a fill out of no where. I do this myself now. Just sit down and play 3 bars then fill and see if I like it. I think that method is the best way to learn improvisation. I stuck with my teacher for 5 years now. I've only learned one song, everything else wasa just technique lessons to be thrown into stuff I improvise day to day.

Learning songs is great and all, but being able to sit down and play something out of the blue that sounds great is just awesome.

They tried way too hard ot be scary. The random noises/screen flashes werent scary, just annoying.

I never took lessons with drums yet, but I'd like to, but everything I do is improv. Even when I am playing along to a song, I fill where I feel appropriate, and make up my own beats to it. :)

I agree, the random noises were over-doing it. The name kind of ruined it too. With "Boogieman" as the name of the movie, it kind of takes part of the scariness away. They definitly tried way too hard, although I did jump once or twice.

Kurtz 02-05-2005 12:44 AM

I hate this whole "horror" trend going on right now. You know, White Noise, Charlie, Boogieman, Hide and Seek, all of those are crap.

Huber 02-05-2005 12:46 AM

I need a "thought provoking question" for my english essay. Everytime I think of one it sounds like I'm implying the reader is gay.

A cinder block can be weightless in space. Would you want to kick it with your bare foot? Even if it is weightless, does it have mass?

After you die you are given the chance to be reborn as an animal, which animal would you choose?

Questions like those?

Huber 02-05-2005 12:52 AM

Yours is better than any I can think of. I might just turn that in, get the credit, and change it in my final draft.

If a tree falls in an empty forest, and no one hears it, does it still make a sound?

I stole those from a google search, so hopefully your English teacher is computer illiterate. Except the animal one isn't bad.

Kurtz 02-05-2005 12:54 AM

I would use this one instead.

Johnnymario 02-05-2005 12:55 AM

Of course, but only if its a syncronized swimming team there, and one of them drowns, then they all have to die too. Thats right around where the ambulance, firetruck, police car, and swat van are at a 4 way stop and they all have the right of way!

Seeing as the tree falls...you fail at answers...

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 12:58 AM
Seeing as the tree falls...you fail at answers...
Just phrase it as "If a tree falls in the middle of the forest, and nobody is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?"

Huber 02-05-2005 01:04 AM

It doesn't matter which one of these I use. I'm just gunna use one of those, say "Well it's thought provoking" and change it to something relative to the rest of the essay in my final draft.

Freezing Moon 02-05-2005 01:06 AM

I am going to bed. I think I got over 30 posts today though, so it was a good day on MX.

Actually now writing an essay on trees falling in the forest is sounding a lot more interesting than Of Mice and Men. Maybe I'll do that for kicks.
