Fine, spam and bring your personal issues into the thread all you want. But if a mod threatens to close the thread because it's getting too spammy and chat boardy I'll be pissed.
Gilmour also pretty much taught Barrett guitar, which has always struck me as pretty odd, considering the order in which they were in the band...
I didn't know that

Okay here, my first post reguarding the subject was basically a hello. Now we know your one to make his presence recongized. Then someone ask me a question or statement needing an answer/response. Now, I'm not one to snub someone off. I answer questions. So, to live up to your past statement, we will all have to stop telling off a n00b replying to the first post, we can not state our presence, or acknowledge when one of us has a birthday, ect.

There your problem is solved ;)
I wasn't a big fan of How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, but I haven't heard much else. Is Joshua Tree a good one to get?
Miracle Drug and Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own are good tracks off How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. The Edge playing his characteristic guitar technique to good effect, soft and relaxing to listen to :thumb: . Vertigo in my opinion is a very average song from U2 but the album is solid. Not a stand out album but not crap, they have never really released a crap record. Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby are probably the best, but I like all of their albums. The Slane Castle DVD is also good, Bono puts so much emotion into his singing and stage presence and truly is himself when he is on stage and his lyrics are straight to the point, quite a charismatic stage man.

Does anyone know if last year's REM greatest hits is any good?

Creedence Clearwater 12-28-2004 07:34 PM
Does anyone know if last year's REM greatest hits is any good?
I would say no, and the "new" song for the album is just a reworking of end of the world as we know it.

Badmoon 12-28-2004 07:34 PM

^Yeah, it lacks "It's the End of the World" though. :)

JPJ, did you realizes Gov't Mule's recording of "Effigy" is a cover of CCR? I just found out for myself :(.

clown_phobia 12-28-2004 07:37 PM

Is that true? Hm... i guess it's not as good as I'd hoped.

Gov't Mule covered Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Effigy". The titles the same. :)

If you want REM, just get/have Automatic for the People and that will be all you need/want.

Couldn't tell you. My dad's had it for awhile and I just pulled it out the other day.

And to Creedance, I have to spread rep around before giving it to you. I'll try though.

Creedence Clearwater 12-28-2004 07:53 PM

Funny story: for christmas my dad got this new Neil Young Greatest Hits thing and then says to me, "Guy, have you ever heard of him (shows me the album with Young on it) its Neil Young, and he is good".

I have that Greatest Hits album. It's a pretty good selection, but it's missing Cortez the Killer.

Badmoon 12-28-2004 07:55 PM

There's major Beatles influence in the Polyphonic Spree's music. It's easy to hear.

Anyone want Dead samples?

jpj 12-28-2004 09:48 PM

ME ME ME ME ME!

I want to send something. I feel bad receiving, but never giving :(

Badmoon 12-28-2004 09:54 PM

Great, I'm actually plenty happy just sending. Because then I may have found a new fan, and also found a new reason for discussion.

Let me just load some songs.

BludgeonySteve 12-28-2004 10:10 PM
it's on Deep End Vol. 1, and I saw The Last Waltz at a used record store.
Maybe I could try sending it to you over AIM. Although i'm not sure if I can do that . That's very ilegal.

edit: wait, JPJ, do you have it? I can't keep track of who has what.

The Neil Young cocaine thing is awesome. It only makes me love him more.

Woodstock 12-28-2004 10:15 PM

Everyone go to the Doors-Strange Days review. Is it messed up for you?

jpj 12-28-2004 10:47 PM

I don't have The Last Waltz. I thought about buying it yesterday, but it was too expensive.

Seafroggys 12-29-2004 01:17 AM
Yep. Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills.
Ah, I've always heard of this Al Kooper, but never anything by him. I keep on thinking of Alice Cooper.
