Phillip: I would replace that pulse with a sonor force 505 http://www.music123.com/search/?src=sonor+force+505 You will have to save up a tiny bit more but I think it would be worth it in the end. If you can wait then the pulse will do fine, all it will need is new heads and it will sound decent.

aznriceball 11-14-2005 10:09 PM

iv slept 2hrs in the last 36 or so. im not tired but my back hurts like hell, mostly from leaning to stare at a computer screen at school for 4 hrs (finally forced myself to finish that paper). WHY must they put the screen like 3ft away from u?!

poppinfresh 11-14-2005 10:10 PM
my friends dad bought my firend a 2000 les paul. He doesnt play guitar or anything he just likes them. I just can't justify the price for gibsons.

aznriceball 11-14-2005 10:13 PM

i have bottle cap glasses, i should be able to see a mile away! :confused:

poppinfresh 11-14-2005 10:15 PM

haha

jkjk

i got contacts and my eye doctor gave me 20/15 vision, everything is so beautiful i can see every wrinkle on the trees' leaves.

i dont know if they are reeissued or what the hell they are, but its like sunburst with gold knobs and hardware.

Futuro 11-14-2005 10:16 PM
i dont know if they are reeissued or what the hell they are, but its like sunburst with gold knobs and hardware.
Yeah it is reissued. Nice guitar, But, I would never spend that much money on a guitar without customizing it down to the "Natural" String heights.

aznriceball 11-14-2005 10:20 PM

i have contacts. but i find them a pain in the arse to put on. so whenever i have em on they stay on forever. then i get eye infections and go back to glasses for a month lol

poppinfresh 11-14-2005 10:21 PM

yeah he has a jackson. he usually doesnt play the les paul because it doesnt have enough frets for his solos, which i think are actually pretty good. hes a good player, played for like 8 hours a day at one point. i dont believe it though maybe less.

rockindrummer 11-14-2005 10:23 PM

Your friend is rich, man. I had no school today which was sweet, tomorrow is going to suck though.

PremierManiac 11-14-2005 10:26 PM

Who gives someone a Les Paul like that?

poppinfresh 11-14-2005 10:36 PM

actually hes white and his house smells like dogs. i dont like to go there too much.

LoneStarDrummer 11-14-2005 11:33 PM

after watching some videos of Louie Bellson on drummerworld.com, i decided to search through the list of drummers. that's when i decided to see what videos of barker they had.

i streamed a video of one of his drum solos and now i fell angry. i can't even describe how i fell right now, it's wierd.

i couldn't stand it when he kept standing up just so he could do rolls on his tom. learn about ergonomics you ***. another thing that pissed me off was the fact that it wasn't the least bit musical. it was so crappy and dull. the people in the audience were going nuts over the fact that he did a drum roll. my mom can do drum rolls.

i guess the reason it made me so mad is that those people in the audience cheering know nothing of good drumming/drummers. i kept thinking of drummers like Bellson and Peart who both have amazing solos (there are many others but those are the two i kept thinking of) and how the audience there have probably never heard of any of them. they don't even know why they're cheering. even if they did hear someone like Bellson or Peart play, they probably wouldn't even cheer.

i never care to hear barker ever play again now. i don't mean anything against the guy and i have nothing agianst the people who like him, but i find him to be driving music in the wrong direction.

rockindrummer 11-14-2005 11:43 PM

^ Ya I know man, it is totaly rediculus, but you just have to ignore it. There isn't anything you can do except laugh at all the stupid close minded fanboys.

Plan B. 11-14-2005 11:44 PM

Max drums for Springsteen...

and takes care of your finances!

:lol:

Brokensticks 11-14-2005 11:45 PM

Yet another Barker hater, how unusual :lol:

i suppose your right, it's just hard to ignore the ignorance of others sometimes. i almost fell sorry for the people who think he's the greatest because they're missing out on so many greats out there.

Brokensticks 11-15-2005 12:15 AM

To me Mike Portony? Spelling there? Is one of the best drummers i've heard, does anyone else have any other suggestings of great drummers? I heard of Buddy Rich, but I have no clue what abnd he plays for or his style of music or anything who is he?

Seafroggys 11-15-2005 12:31 AM

w00t 4000th post!

Anyway, I've been gone for a week I think. Been so damn busy. On Friday I bought the computer game "The Movies" I've been waiting for it to come out since 2002. Played it all weekend, made some killer stuff.

Today at my drum lesson (yes I've finally started up lessons again) I learned this cool westernized afro-cuban groove.....I'll try and tab the SOB out

RC: x-x-xx I -x-x-x
SD: -g-g-- I x-g-g-
BD: x----- I -----x
HH: ---x-- I ---x--

RC=ride
SD=snare
BD=bass
HH=hi-hat foot
g=ghost note

Plus there's a dozen variations my teacher showed me, and also told me to come up with my own.

That should be a prerequisite before anyone signs up here.

Bone 11-15-2005 01:05 AM

No argument here with that.

Seafroggys 11-15-2005 01:06 AM

Hey did anyone notice that they changed this forum's description on the main page? It doesn't say Who Can PLay POlyrhythms at 210 anymore!

Double Bass Jim 11-15-2005 01:09 AM

I changed it :cool:

i'm a huge fan of rob hirst from midnight oil. i dont know if many people out of oz've heard of him specifically, but he's great.

Aaron 11-15-2005 03:04 AM

i think i might buy 6 more wuhan 12" splashes to spite half-life, then i'll have 9

aznriceball 11-15-2005 12:53 PM

^ why 6? get 8 10 and 12 then get 6 8 and 10 evo/a custom splashes and stack on em :)

Jezen 11-15-2005 01:16 PM

Wtf?!?! Where did all the posts go :confused:
