is it true that they are planing a tour with some rapper? its someting i heard and if its true that makes me sad. every good band is selling out these days.

Duh course metallica are selling out i mean look at the entire st. Anger album, the biggest piece of **** ever.

K mr musical genius, write an album that can even come close to St. Anger.
Sure it's no musical masterpiece, but I'm sure it's a hell of alot better then anything you can produce.

It has been said over and over again, to the point where I'm ready to ****en defend the album. We have all acknowledged it, you don't have to keep telling us.

And before I get mobbed by fanboys, I love Metallica and their music, but they sold out as soon as Bob Rock came along IMO.

Bands don't "sell out." Bands make decisions for themselves to try and spread out there listeners and attract more listeners (hense the music video). Even James didn't want to make videos, but it helped their 90,000,000+ album sales

What? of course bands can sell out.
When a band changes their ideals/sounds/etc... to create more money it's called selling out.
The majority of bands don't make decisions for themselves, but take susggestions from their record companies.

Or their producers i.e. Bob Rock. I don't know if you guys saw that special on the Black album on much more music a while back but apparently before Bob Rock got involved with the band James didn't even know what a harmony was.

For not knowing what Harmony is, he used it a surprising amount.

Bob Rock produced the black album. #1 on the charts. Now do you think they sold out when he came along. I DON'T THINK SO

That is probably his very reason for saying they sold out.

I like the Black Album, I don't care what there motive behind changing there music was.

Is the Fade to Black intro solo that hard to play.
I have played it, but the part where kirk is speeding it up it is a little hard to play.

I think I just heard a new Metallica song on the radio on the way back home earlier. The lyrics I remember were like "I hear the freight train comin'" and "...and it comes to be...". Something like that. I know it was Metallica singing it. Has anyone else heard it?

If it's a new song, I'm glad that it has a black album/load like sound to it rather than that god **** St. Anger crap.

It's No Leaf Clover. They played it on S&M. The material dates back before Load was even released.

Yea but Call of the Ktulu was on Ride the Lightning. I was curious about no leaf clover being on some other album

My biggest problem with S&M, the orchestra can sometimes drown out the band. Is anyone else amazed at how awesome the Battery intro sounded?

A lot of people rag on St. Anger. While I agree that it was pretty lackluster
compared to Metallica's previous works, there are some cool riffs and ideas
that went into it. Example, I tried (for fun) to learn to play the intro to
the title track and the intro to Dirty Window, and found them to be
really good riffs. I think that maybe James' lyrics kinda drug the whole feel
down for the album. I know for a fact that he is a better songwriter than that.
