Don't worry, I'm not knowledgeable about Jefferson Airplane and I'm making a thread on them.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-02-2005 11:15 PM

Steerpike- I thought that was the 3rd. Meh, either way, we're still missing a 5.

EDIT: Oh yeah, melodeath, country rock, pop punk, then rap. I forgot about Vince's for a second.

Steerpike 07-02-2005 11:16 PM

Truthfully, I seldom know much more than a dozen or so songs by the artists I do my threads on. The exceptions of course being Savatage, MSG, and Celtic Frost.

However, if I feel they deserve more attention, I do more research and put them up as an option for the next spotlight.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-02-2005 11:18 PM

Maybe I could do a thread on Boy Hits Car. Now that band kicks some serious ass, but they only have one album out.

You know, if all of these threads were labelled as FA's we'd have somewhere upward of 50 by now.

lunch998 07-02-2005 11:27 PM

That's what I've been doing tonight - research. I now feel like I know a good deal about Jefferson Airplane.

I've actually nearly finished this, I didn't expect to be done tonight. Just waiting for a few more uploads.

R&M owns.
It'll own even more once I start doing my FAs. They're going to be mostly on Celtic and New Age artists, in order to broaden their fanbases or awareness circles and to provide a context for the enormous Celtic influence found in much melodic, modern power metal.

lunch998 07-02-2005 11:44 PM

So basically if you don't have your own series, you suck.

Steerpike 07-02-2005 11:46 PM

Cain, you are notoriously difficult to get ahold of, you know that?

I ask again, would you be interested in working on commission?

Shooting bottle rockets at unsuspecting pedestrians is better.

Steerpike 07-03-2005 12:13 AM

RCA, did you get the uploads for Cathedral yet?

RCA 07-03-2005 12:16 AM

I did! They were all good; Melancholy Emperor was the one that I liked the most. I put those tracks onto my Winamp playlist so I can listen to them in sequence.

Shooting bottle rockets at people in general owns.

True.

Steerpike 07-03-2005 12:23 AM

Melancholy Emperor is off the 6th album if I'm not mistaken. Equilibrium and Serpent Eve are off of Forest of Equilibrium, and Magic Mountain is from The Ethereal Mirror. Let's see, what was that other track I put up? I know it was from The VIIth Coming...

Shred Danson 07-03-2005 12:26 AM

Why don't you pull a R.Blythe and upload EVERYFRICKENTHING, dude?

RCA 07-03-2005 12:28 AM

Nocturnal Fist was the other.

If you mean music, I'm a little confused. I'm sure that I would love to, but I would like a little more detail on what exactly you're looking for.

I usually have dinner at 3 AM, that's when my grandma gets home from working at Wal Mart, and I'm usually too lazy to make myself something...

Duh, it's the internet.
If you mean music, I'm a little confused. I'm sure that I would love to, but I would like a little more detail on what exactly you're looking for.
Basically, I have a cluster of films I'm hoping to produce in the next couple of years, some of which may actually have a budget. I'd prefer to commission original songs and soundtracks from independent or unsigned artists for two reasons:

1. Since I'm doing indie film, I couldn't in good conscience not support indie music.
2. Even if I could, I wouldn't want to deal with record labels who would demand extra royalties and stiff the actual artists.

I thought of you because you're into New Age, Celtic, and Prog, and I need someone who's willing to compose something a little more avant-garde than the usual fair.

For example, the first film I hope to make in 2006 is and adaptation of "Pickman's Model" by H.P. Lovecraft. I'm already working on acquiring a painter to make the necessary portraits for the film, but I want an original soundtrack for it as well.

Read the original short story and let me know if you'd be interested. If not, I'll list a few other projects I had in mind, and if you like the sound of any of them, we can go from there.

And you shan't for a little while longer, because it's 2:50 AM and I need to sleep. But hello, glad to see you. I've actually seen you around quite a bit, but I've been lurking more for the past few days. :)

Steerpike: sounds like a ton of fun. I'd be curious as to whether I'd do it for free, however, although cost is an issue for you then forget it. I'd just like more detail when you can give it. I'm liking the sound of your thoughts though, I'll check the story out and get back to you. It sounds like fun.

Cool. I'll assure you, I'll give you the details once I'm certain they'll work. If you'd like to know of any other projects I have in mind, let me know.

Until then, see ya around.

Necrophiliac. Haha, I love it when people talk crap about my mom and don't know she's dead. "Ha, you band dead chicks." That's kinda sadistic and macabre, but hey.

By the way, I know it's all in good fun, homie.

"Good Omens" by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Basically, it's one big satire of religion and apocalyptic lore.
