You do realize how much a generalization that is, right?
Well in extreme cases I guess it's somewhat necessary, but every little problem doesn't require drugs. Believe it or not, you can heal your problems without running to the drug store.

i am the robots 10-27-2007 01:30 PM

I can't. :(

gmoneyguy 10-27-2007 01:32 PM

Emotions are chemical responses to stimuli. If the brain doesn't make enough of a certain chemical, then no therapy will help. Therapy helps you come to grips with your problem but does cause the brain to create more chemicals. Which as i said before are responsible for how you feel. The purpose of medication is not necessarily a magic cure as you seem to think. What it does do, is allow the patient's brain to create the chemicals normal people create on their own. Once your brain can create those chemicals, then therapy can begin to supplement the drug treatment.

I'm sorry but statements like that are made by people who don't understand what it like to have clinical depression. It does nothing to help people but make them think they are even more worthless then they had previously and mistakenly thought before. If you conditional depression you may not need medication because it is in inefficiency in coping skills.

YARHG!

/Post in viking clothing.

I will go to the pub for the halloween party in a few minutes. :D
:chug:
Sup all?

Nostalgia 10-27-2007 01:47 PM

Hahahahahaha. What you did is manipulate what I said to make it look like I threw everyone into the same catergory. Of course they can be prescribed depending on your condition, but I only said that they maybe weren't applicable with everyone who has little fright.

You just spewed out some typical and generic physiological mumbo-gumbo that no one gives a **** about. I know you want to be cool and act like some genius, but it seemed incredibly pathetic getting into your professor mode when I made a little condescending joke.

Nothing much, people are seem to be in some attack-all mindset.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-27-2007 01:48 PM

I don't know if you realize this, but maybe he wasn't JUST talking about clinical depression. Even things like Advil are abused. Have a headache? Drink some water, breathe deep, eat some fruit. Smoke a bowl. Whatev.

The last suggestion was meant to be ironic fyi.

Nostalgia 10-27-2007 01:50 PM

Yeah, what Jake said.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-27-2007 01:52 PM

Then its a generalization. Idiot. Which is what I had posted before.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-27-2007 01:56 PM

You're taking it wayyy to personally. Little worry =/= clinical depression. I'm pretty sure he was more getting at the fact that people oftentimes see drugs as a sort of self pitying reward for something difficult in their lives. For example "my girlfriend dumped me, lets get ****ed up" type of deal. Plus, knowing a little bit more about Austin's past and whatnot, it's probably better for you not to accuse him of being ignorant about things like this...

superpeer 10-27-2007 01:57 PM

I think it's always safe to accuse Austin of being ignorant.

gmoneyguy 10-27-2007 01:59 PM

Its a personal issue for me. You have no idea how many times, before I was on medication, I was told that it was just in my head, and made to feel bad because of attitudes like that. What I'm trying to say don't assume you know what other people are going through.

Dr. Jake Destructo 10-27-2007 01:59 PM

Hey Jelle, long time no see. How goes the touching of young women these days?

And I kind of guessed that and am no way saying some people don't need certain remedies, but yeah I got into an argument that wasn't even mine, so, as you were.

Kage 10-27-2007 02:05 PM

Man, before my friend got a girlfriend we used to just go out weekend nights and have a great time. Now every night we go out is just another piece of useless drama. I mean, wtf.

It happens to the best man. Have you thrown out the bros before hoes card?

Kage 10-27-2007 02:11 PM

Many times, my friend. It's not that he's neglecting to hang out with me or anything like that, it's just that he always ends up down about something and shit turns so complex for no reason, when we used to just roll another j and have another beer and have a good time.

And yesterday she was acting so bitchy, he ended up getting in the car with a drunk driver to appease her. I was like, wtf are you doing you idiot?

I don't even see my friend anymore since he got a girlfriend, my weekends have been so boring, lately.

That sucks, what makes it worse is that he won;t really listen to anyone. Moderation is key, even to vag.

Kage 10-27-2007 02:15 PM

I don't even see a real connection with this dame, and the relationship doesn't really seem to be working. Every other date they go in is a bad one that needs to be redeemed by a good one. I dunno, maybe that's normal but I don't think it should be.

And, seriously, I don't think there has been even one single weekend night out with her that she hasn't fucked up since they started dating.

gmoneyguy 10-27-2007 02:18 PM

Sounds like he is so blinded by her, that is he unwilling to see what is wrong.

On a side note I am really staring to dig Maudin of the Well

Glitterati 10-27-2007 02:19 PM

My usual group of friends I go out with are all couples and they always invite me along to stuff but I always feel like the third wheel. Doesn't help that I'm the youngest of them all.

I had a point in my life that was like that. It's shitty.

The worst is two of your best friends dating, because they both complain to you about each other.

superpeer 10-27-2007 02:26 PM

Yeah, being around couples suck.

But I'm willing to make exceptions, you know. :\

Like earlier this week, Planet Terror came out here (way delayed) and my best friend was like: "wanna go watch it some time?" And I said: "sure, great, since we saw Death Proof together."

But then a day later he told me his girlfriend might want to watch it too, so he said he couldn't go. I hoped he was half-joking, so I said for lulz: "ah, yes, and I can't come along!". And he just shrugged.

Evil womenz. =[

gmoneyguy 10-27-2007 02:29 PM

I'll go with you Jelle.

Glitterati 10-27-2007 02:31 PM

Damn those women.

With their smooth skin.

And their lush long nice-smelling hair.

And their cute little laughs.

And the way their hands are always smaller than yours.

gmoneyguy 10-27-2007 02:31 PM

They have boobs too, and vagina's mmmm...

And their surprising you with a cawk when they take off their skirt.

Glitterati 10-27-2007 02:34 PM

Happened to you didn't it?

i am the robots 10-27-2007 02:36 PM

That would be so damn awkward.
And their chocolate rain.
My face once was normal, but now it's maimed.
