dinosaurxbrocore 05-05-2008 09:39 PM

FatalEnergy 05-05-2008 09:42 PM

If "revolutionizing" means sounding nothing like it, then sure.

OTP: dinosaurxbrocore and FatalEnergy present an in depth look at the relationship between Auric von Goldfinger and James "007" Bond over the course of 3 posts.

C.O.A. 05-06-2008 06:25 AM

riva, you's a bitch *** nigga fa real son.

AFragileHope 05-06-2008 06:43 AM

Yeah, I think the new Aborted songs aren't so good.

They'll never better Goremageddon.

jrowa001 05-06-2008 08:27 AM

im looking for some early death metal. like considered classic death metal albums. so far i have the ealry album(s) by Death, Atheist, Morbid Angel, Decapitated, Dismember, Demigod, Obituary, and some others. any recommendations for me to check out? anything from the early 90's possibly earlier

Stevie II 05-06-2008 08:45 AM

Most essential:

Possessed - Seven Churches
Entombed - Left Hand Path
Deicide - Legion

Then

Autopsy - Mental Funeral
At the Gates - the red in the sky is ours
Suffocation - Effigy of the forgotten
therion - beyond sanctorum

then

Pestilence - consuming impulse
necrophobic - nocturnal silence
massacra - enjoy the violence
gorguts - the erosion of sanity
amorphis - karelian isthmus

then

massacre - from beyon
unleashed - where no life dwells
baphomet - the dead shall inherit

that lot plus their related decent albums should keep you going for a while.

Vokills 05-06-2008 09:40 AM

(on Aborted) i got their newer album before gormageddon and i thought they were pretty lame (not BAD, just not right for me) but after getting goremageddon my opinion of them went up

kudos

jrowa001 05-06-2008 09:45 AM

thanks StevieII ill check those out, sounds like i got some work to do. i have the Entombed album actually, i forgot to list that.

Stevie II 05-06-2008 10:25 AM

no problem :)

BroRape 05-06-2008 10:36 AM

nothing beats early nineties when it comes to metal. i always argue with my dad about that. he's 41 and he's yet to understand that judas priest blows.

pate 05-06-2008 10:52 AM

Because he's right.

RetiredAt21 05-06-2008 11:07 AM

I can't get my dad into death metal. Whenever he hears me listening to it he's always like "What's with all the screaming? Don't any of these guys sing?" NO NO NO NO NO NO.

He's cool with the riffage, though.

Deth 05-06-2008 11:09 AM

People have a hard time expanding their perception of music. It's a shame because there is so much great stuff out there in every genre that people don't try because music is only something pre-packaged and used as instant gratification instead of something to savor and relish.

Why are you such a failure?

Stevie II 05-06-2008 11:10 AM

yeah lots of people just can't stomach metal vocals, but they like the instrumentation

Stevie II 05-06-2008 11:17 AM

It's a shame that metal's so berated amongst the majority of people because it is so rich. Most people just listen to music for entertainment and something for as you say instant gratification and so they don't learn to appreciate stuff like metal.
