NP: The Number Of The Beast \m/
\m/ *begins learning number of the beast* |
i prefer the # of the beast to hallowed by thy name.
i never was completely hooked to HBTN as much as NOTB or run to the hills. great song nonetheless |
So happy 06/06/06!
NP: The Number Of The Beast \m/
I was listening to NotB earlier today:cool: |
I was listening to NotB earlier today too :)
I got to hear the WORST version of The Trooper ever today. We had a Battle Of The Bands at school. |
The worst version of the trooper i've heard was a hip hop version which was basically cutting the song up and shifting it about and putting a stupid hip hop beat over the top.
I'll go hunting and see if i can find it. |

recent examination of the oldest known part of the old testamend reveals that the number of the beast is actually 616
=/ |
I've been saying that for ages nobady seems to listen though, wasn't it due to a mis translation, or something?
NP - Flight Of Icarus |
^cant remember, read the article a while ago
review of dianno's "new" album": http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/showreview.aspx?reviewID=738 |
Oh dear, those inverted commas don't bode well.

according to a friend of mine who is an incredibly strict Christian, the Number is still 666 :p
|
Haha..Lets face it, 666 > 616.
We all know it's impossible for Maiden to be wrong about anything. |
I'll go with it can't be wrong because maiden can't be wrong, but christians would be the last to admit that the bible had a mistake in it,
|
Well, the contradictions in it are all there for a reason. You have to have it both ways!
666 is wayyyy cooler. |
people familliar with beast over hammersmith?
|
Yeah, it's a great live album...Shame about the technical issues... :upset:

Tech. issues? Like what? I've never heard the album..Though it's on the Early Days DVD is it not? |
people familliar with beast over hammersmith?
yeah it's pretty good |
I really like the album, it's one of my favourite live albums actually, I love the ersion of Killers on there, I really wish they had played that on the last tour.
|

I've never heard the album..Though it's on the Early Days DVD is it not?
Only about 1/3 of the gig is on Early Days, if you notice small things, you'll notice the lighting in places is off and the sound in places is really quite dodgy. That's why they never released (or re-released) it. |
Its a very enjoyable gig. I just wish i could see all the stuff that wasn't on the Early Days DVD:(
|
Yeah, it's all of the songs but two from NOTB right? I was wanting to hear some older stuff.
|
i just got it yesterday i really enjoy it
|
Sounds awesome. I'm looking for a fairly easy Maiden song to learn on guitar..I know The Wicker Man intirely so I'm looking for something close to as easy as that.
|
Wrathchild is pretty easy, and a hell of a fun song to play as well. Very...blusey, almost, in parts.
|
Run to the hills, doesn't really get much easier for maiden.
Could try Children of the damned, Rainmaker, or No More lies, they're all pretty easy. Or slightly harder (minus the solos) i'd say Paschendale. |

Aces High. That was one of the first songs I've ever learned. I forgot it though. I have to re-teach it to my self. >> The Evil that Men Do is fairly easy aswell. |
I guess I know Run To The Hills also, I forgot about it.
I love to listen to Wrathchild, but it's not something I'm really intrested in learning. I may give Rainmaker a try, or perhaps Children Of The Damned. |
wrathchilds all about the bass anyway, or to me it is, one of my favs songs to play on it anyway.
|
I love the bridge of the song, where the riff just keeps going higher. It builds so much tension.
|
Try Killers, thats a cool song.
|
The Trooper is easily by far the easiest Maiden song.
Most of the Songs on SSOASS however... :p |
Most of the Songs on SSOASS however... :p
haha, i've been learning a couple of the songs on that album for the past week and i certainly agree with you:p |
I suggest Rainmaker. The riff to that is very fun.
Or The Fallen Angel. And the solos in Paschendale aren't that hard, except for Jannick's, but I've found you can normally get away with fake-shredding his solos...it's what he does live. So when I go to University, I'm going to start a stadium-rock-cover band (probably going to be called Epica, but we might call ourselves The Penguins Of Doom instead) Anyway, I was talking to the bassist for that and we were trying to chose our Iron Maiden cover...it was really wierd...couldn't really pick one which was a "stadium rock" in the same way I Believe In A Thing Called Love (The Darkness) or It's My Life (Bon Jovi) are... (we discluded the the "epics from that, since we'd mostly have a half-hour set list, and 6 or 7 minutes is too long to dedicate to one song out of that) Any help or suggestions? |
You Got Another Thing Comin' by Judas Priest
Hells Bells by AC/DC The Immigrant Song by Led Zep A few that come to mind. |
