What band?
I'm not quite sure yet...how strictly pop-punk does it have to be? I was originally thinking Mighty Mighty Bosstones, but I might not do that if people want something more pop-punk.

AP blows. Any magazine that is based on a type of genre of music is basically for teenie boppers.
AP blows. Any magazine that is based on a type of genre of music is basically for teenie boppers.
its actually only called that, its not solely based upon alternative music... it pretty much covers everything under the "rock" branch of music

Puma 07-10-2005 03:28 PM
AP(Alternative Press, its a magazine) a new one came out, got it, and they said SKSK-The City Sleeps In Flames was a don't bother album.

I loved that album.

i have the issue too and i just read the review... i love the bad reviews

Understanding In a Crash 07-10-2005 03:30 PM

I still want to masturbate :upset:

Tjebby 07-10-2005 03:31 PM

Me too. I was angered. But CKY-An Answer Can Be Found got a buy now. So thats cool. AP does a system with numbers 1-5 on albums. 1: Don't bother. 2:Burn. 3:Buy Used. 4:Buy Later. 5:Buy Now. If you were wondering what I was talking about.

Permanent Solution 07-10-2005 03:33 PM

Music critics are only good if you share the exact same tastes as the critiquer (sp?). In other words they're basically useless.

Puma 07-10-2005 03:33 PM

Yeah, I'm familiar with their rating system. I usually quite enjoy that magazine too, but now I don't know.

This months issue has Transplants on the Cover, so I thought it was going to be a good one. It was so-so.

oh yeah i know, imma subscriber :thumb: i have to renew my subscription this month actually. I like their system and they're usually pretty acurrate, by my standards at least

I think so too, but giving SKSK a dont bother is ridiculous. That is a good cd.

Understanding In a Crash 07-10-2005 03:37 PM

The CKY album could definitely throw down as album of the year.

Permanent Solution 07-10-2005 03:38 PM
The CKY album could definitely throw down as album of the year.
Nah, most albums of the year have broader appeal than that. Based on the fanbase Mars Volta built off FTM, that's my best guess for album of the year right now. CKY isn't mainstream enough to win it I don't think. Maybe I'm wrong.

Understanding In a Crash 07-10-2005 03:40 PM

Thx for owning me... :upset:

I should of knew the mainstream always wins..

FTW!

Tjebby 07-10-2005 03:41 PM

Screw mainstreams. Lets vote for album of the year on here.

I'd still vote for FTM over CKY as I don't like CKY really. Catch without Arms might beat it though, I'm undecided.
Call me!
I will, I have to finish hammering out my schedule first to see when I'm definitely free though. I'm over in Seatac, if we do something I'll need a ride, is that cool?

Oh god, yes. I'm really starting to detest music reviewing. Why would you use all these big and stupid words to describe something as cool as music? You're just making it lame.

Understanding In a Crash 07-10-2005 03:47 PM

Of course. I am like free this whole week I think, but I've told that to like five different people already so I'm not sure! I'm super excited to meet an Internet Person though so I'll probably ditch them.

Oh no, I love reviewing, but I hate reading reviews, unless I've already listened, and then I try to see where they come from and how our views differ, but I won't base my opinion on someone else's.

Haha, internet person, I like it, it sounds so demeaning :p

I'm free now till Wednesday I think, but my family wants to do stuff with me, so if all goes according to plan, I'll be free one of those three days to do something with you if you want, but I'll have to get back to you after my aunt gets home and we discuss the plans.

Well duh. I'm just getting really tired of how people try to make rock and pop music intellectual. Like I was reading a review of the new Gorillaz album and it described one of the songs as "a sparkling mixture of parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme" and I'm like "What the hell are you TALKING about???"

Tomorrow or Wednesday would probably work best for me. Give me a call when you find out.

It was an allusion to Simon and Garfunkle, silly kid. Although how it pertained to the review, I'm not sure.

Also, I bet you do dress just like a fag. :p
