I find myself questioning what is moral. Morality is a cultural thing and I always question why we should follow what our culture says is right.

Now that you mention it, I've done that before. I've also enjoyed retelling some crazy/humorous stuff that has happened to me (that's half the fun of going to parties) and spicing it up, which I guess is kind of like the basis for stand up. Or something.

I've been over this discussion in the past but I really don't understand Atheism. I know what it's about, I just don't understand how there can't be any kind of mysticism in the world. I like to believe that there's more than just the mundane.

its not a question of authority, nor an act of rebellion. Its more of "Why does society say that blah blah blah is right and yadda yadda yadda is wrong?"

I've narrowed my truth down to these two ideas;

a) A hodgepodge of ideas from different religions. (The correct combination unbeknownst to us all, which really puts a dampener on this idea)
b) We are here as part of a scientific anomile, so to speak. I think it is impossible that we are the only place life exists. There is estimated at over a mole of stars in the known universe, so the chance that we are the only planet with life is very slim.

I don't believe anything traditionally considered wrong is inherently so. In fact one of the few if only things I have any sort of issue with is cheating (in a relationship). So, eh.

That said, I still obey most the traditional morals of society.

My arguement is what makes a painting art rather than just a bunch of paint, or what is love? I just don't understand it so I'd like to keep some kind of hope for explanation. There's no real evidence of evolution either. I guess religion isn't somthing I'd like talking about.

Expressions of feeling. Believe me, I've been through the fullest stretch of feelings you can, but I don't see that as evidence of any higher being. I don't know. The basic idea of it just seems ridiculous to me and, push come to shove, if I am eternally damned for believing that way...that's not the kind of god I'd ever worship anyways.

I am a very religious person, but there is so much evidence for evolution out there that it is mindblowing.

I believe science and religion can, should, and must be reconcilable :)

Proof is unfortunately always subjective to a degree.

For instance, though we know gravity "exists" we can't explain how. Most of the people doing that sort of challenge demand that sort of irrefutable proof that no one has. But you don't see people questioing the existence of gravity.

i would give someone 6 million dollars if they had sufficient proof for evolution or creationism either way. then, this silly debate and endless arguing b/w the two sides would stop.

It's not an arguement/debate yet. Just discussion so far. I'd hate for it to get into an arguement though because even though I don't accept Atheism in my mind, I'm not gonna stop anyone else from believeing what they want to believe nor am I going to try to prove their way of life is bogus.
