Lord Abortion 05-31-2006 01:27 PM

I have bought a total of one 2006 release.

Kill by Cannibal Corpse; it's superb.

JamJar 05-31-2006 01:28 PM

Lucky... I've been dissapointed with the new DragonForce, Tool and AFI, although the new Chili Pepper's album is quite great.

Deth 05-31-2006 01:31 PM

I have a couple and haven't been disappointed yet. Kill being the best one so far.

Lord Abortion 05-31-2006 01:35 PM

Oh, I forgot Inhuman Rampage was this year...meh, it's not as good as the other two.

JamJar 05-31-2006 01:38 PM
Oh, I forgot Inhuman Rampage was this year...meh, it's not as good as the other two.
Oh it's so much worse... so much worse.

On another note, I forgot how much The X-Factor pwns.

Lord Abortion 05-31-2006 01:42 PM

It's one of the rules of the thread.

it's about #3 under;

#1.Steve is thy God, thou shalt not have any other gods than he, for he is a jealous God.
#2 Thou shalt not Disparage Blaze.

The next one is "keep your hands off Ash's beer"
We held that as a rule after that nasty incident last time.
We had to bail him out of Hull police station and clean his medievil axe collection before they managed to get a search warrant.

crag 05-31-2006 01:53 PM

Ah the X-Factor, i was listening to a few songs from it today. Exquisite album:)

JamJar 05-31-2006 01:56 PM

It'd be better if Sign Of The Cross wasn't the first song on the album though, it annoys me when the best song on the album is first.

Deth 05-31-2006 01:58 PM

Same with me, it's annoying when you know the album is going downhill after that song.

Stormrider 05-31-2006 02:00 PM

I have a few X - Factor songs that soemone from this thread sent me. I don't remember who though...They're good. Only listened to the once though.

Lord Abortion 05-31-2006 02:01 PM

I actually prefer Fortunes of war and the aftermath to SOTC nowadays.

JamJar 05-31-2006 02:01 PM

Buy the album now, you won't be dissapointed. Also The Unbeliever is Maiden's most underrated song ever.

crag 05-31-2006 02:03 PM

SotC is my favourite on the album but the latter songs on the album are very close behind it.

Deth 05-31-2006 02:05 PM

Blood on the Worlds Hands is incredible as well.

Lord Abortion 05-31-2006 02:06 PM
Blood on the Worlds Hands is incredible as well.
yeah, you play bass, so you're probably like

Stormrider 05-31-2006 02:07 PM
Buy the album now, you won't be dissapointed. Also The Unbeliever is Maiden's most underrated song ever.
Yeah I will. Theres still a few more Maiden albums that I would maybe get...

/feels like listening to Paschendale

JamJar 05-31-2006 02:07 PM

I don't play bass but I'm still like

Deth 05-31-2006 02:09 PM

I need to get around to learning that actually. I might do it today.

Stormrider 05-31-2006 02:12 PM

Yeah, it's probably my favorite Maiden song...out of the ones I know.

Deth 05-31-2006 02:13 PM

Dammit Jammie, you're going to have more posts than me in a week or so. I had to lose 800 posts by the deletion of two threads didn't I .

Stormrider 05-31-2006 02:15 PM

That's why you fail

/other thread thing

I don't post in the Pit :p

Oh yeah, the PT thread got deleted...

Deth 05-31-2006 02:16 PM

I don't either. I used to until I realized it was full of morons.

I lost the posts on the community thread and the Porcupine Tree thread, which was deleted for some reason.

Stormrider 05-31-2006 02:17 PM

Well Community Thread came back. Or else, I would have been 800 posts short.

Learnt that last week, it wasnt that fun to play to be honest.

And for the X-factor, does anyone else think the line line between love and hate sound alot like judgment of heaven?

Hm, they do actually.

Infact they have the same chord progression:amaze:

Also has anyone noticed the main riff in The Edge Of Darkness is a lot like the one in HBTN?

Lord Abortion 06-01-2006 08:03 AM

The edge of Darkness is another brilliant song, Blaze's vocals are, what is known as teh secks

Deth 06-01-2006 08:29 AM

I have indeed. But HBTN is so good, who really cares?

-The Frank 06-01-2006 08:38 AM

^^^

exactly.

Josh 06-02-2006 07:19 AM

'sup guys. i can enter a competition to interview Nicko and Janick, and hear 4 tracks from the album, if i write a paragraph about my top 4 maiden tracks, on the IMOC. only problem is, you have to actually interview them professionally :(

That is way too cool!

Do it and see what happens. :thumb:

You should definately enter, that would be such an awesome thing to win:)

Josh 06-02-2006 08:59 AM

yeh, it would, although i think i'd end up too nervous to enjoy it though.

/looks at thread on IMOC.

EDIT: "What you have to do to enter :-

Select your all-time top 3 Maiden tracks, and then write a concise and evocative paragraph on each one describing each song and expressing why you chose it.

As we do not know where the winner will be coming from, the winner is responsible for the cost of any travel, hotels etc. You will be expected to make your own way to London and must be available for the full day of Friday 23th June. So please make sure this fits your calendar before entering. You will be met by Laz the Fan Club Manager in or near to London and he will drive you to a secret location to hear FOUR tracks from the album, and then meet and interview Nicko and Janick. We will also take photos of you with Nicko and Janick which will be published on the Iron Maiden website and in the magazine to accompany your interview!"

bugger, in the middle of my exams, and i can't afford to travel there and back :(

Deth 06-02-2006 12:11 PM

Any one who enters should probably pick songs that aren't the most conventional picks. How many paragraphs will there be about HBTN?

JamJar 06-02-2006 12:18 PM

I would love to get the oppurtunity but too bad I'm at school and such and am not a member of the Maiden fan club. We might possibly get some information about the album aswell with the regards to the four new tracks.

ashman 06-02-2006 12:42 PM

If I entered and I won, I'd be like

Then I would have to ask Janick this;

"What would you class yourself as; Guitarist or Backing Dancer for the band?"

PAJJ 06-02-2006 01:37 PM
If I entered and I won, I'd be like

That sounds a bit too much like a diss on janick for me, i expected more from you :upset:
Oh and he's the greatest backing dancer ever.

ashman 06-02-2006 02:02 PM
That sounds a bit too much like a diss on janick for me, i expected more from you :upset:

I'm sure he'd laugh at it.

PAJJ 06-02-2006 02:07 PM

yeah you're right he would.

temporary 06-02-2006 02:56 PM

Damn, that'd be cool to enter, but if I somehow won, my parent's may have a bit of a problem with me saying "Um...hey mom and dad, I need a plain ticket to London on the 28th to meet members of Iron Maiden." Then again, my dad really likes Maiden so he might consider it. ;)
