You should check out ESG and A Certain Ratio if you havent already. But you probably have.
Actually, I've not heard either. I've heard ACR are good though, and I have no idea who ESG are. I'll check them both out. Who's your favorite No Wave band/artist, out of interest?

NineBitFable 08-26-2006 07:17 PM

Silversun Pickups- Carnavas

Really cool record. I think all the comparisons they get to the Smashing Pumpkins are a bit unfair, personally.

br3ad_man 08-26-2006 07:35 PM

I'll have to check out Raein and La Quiete.

Any band that gets approval from both you and Anxious Mo-Fo has got to be good. I'll have to download something by these guys.

My mom is getting really into Neu!, especially Neu! '75, so I'm sort of rekindling my love for them.

Revisiting Bee Thousand.

/behind the times

The full release of the latest Yo La Tengo will be coming soon.

Daniel! 08-27-2006 12:43 AM

Sebadoh - III

I bought the reissue today. $14 for two discs worth of some of the best music I've heard in a long time is a good deal in my book.

Robert Crumb 08-27-2006 12:59 AM

Long listening day, listened to some Ornette Coleman, Pharoah Sanders, John Cale and Gram Parsons. Currently listening to Lula Côrtes & Zé Ramalho's Paêbirú, which is some pretty cool Brazilian psychedelic stuff. Good day, all in all.

pixiesfanyo 08-27-2006 02:07 AM

I think I'll be digging this dub cd I picked up.

br3ad_man 08-27-2006 02:28 AM

Cursive - Happy Hollow

Robert Crumb 08-27-2006 03:36 PM

Listening to a horrible acoustic guitar cover of John Cale's "Fear Is a Man's Best Friend" I just did. I only have three strings and I can't sing or keep beat for ****. But was fun to make. Awesome song.

Minus The Flair 08-27-2006 03:36 PM

as above.

edit: Cursive - Happy Hollow.

Luxor 08-27-2006 06:15 PM

Nas
Dr.Dre
NWA
Geto Boys
Biggie

Humcrush - Hornswoggle
Strønen's solo album, Pohlitz definitely changed his methods as a percussionist. It makes for an excellent second album.

Both of those bands rule. I've been listening to lots of ESG lately, as well as

Throbbing Gristle - 20 Jazz Funk Greats
Cluster - Zuckerzeit
Radio Dept. - Pet Grief
Beirut - Gulag Orkestar

metalicajaymz 08-27-2006 06:43 PM

The Beirut album is awesome.
