Finally there is a thread on classic rock im tired of this new crap, its not even worth listening to. THe bands of the 60's and 70's created rock and now its dead.I wanna quote THe Doors for a second here,"Rock is dead" now its all about popularity. Of ur popular then people will love thats bull****. I hate bands these days . Bands like like the beatles, stones, velvet underground, jefferson airplane floyd those are the bads that created rock. Whats up with these new bands today thay have no meaning in their ****ing songs. These dumbases need to listen to "The End" or "Let it Be". Have u guys heard of the band The Doors of the 21st century they suck compared to the original doors. Its cool and all Ray M. and Robby K. are trying tto jam asgain but they need to stop singing doors songs , leave them alone man there classics.
Shut up.

EDIT: Some real meaningful lyrics from "The End":
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best, The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is callin' us, The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us
That's real poetry for sure!
Jeez JPJ, you got like 25 CD's!
Actually 27 because I got 2 copies of Rocks due to poor communication between family members so I'm gonna exchange it, and my mom got me a CD I already had, which will be exchanged.

Yea, but the Very Best of Cream? How could you?

Badmoon 12-25-2004 08:41 PM
27 CD's=Lots of money

Yeah it is.

14 x 27 = 278

*shows math because he's coo;Hopes he's right*

Illmatic 12-25-2004 08:42 PM

It's possible that a lot of them were bought used.

Smart people buy used CDs instead of new ones.

jpj 12-25-2004 08:45 PM
Yea, but the Very Best of Cream? How could you?
I'm sorry :(

At the time I made the list(October) I really didn't know what to get Cream-wise, so I just asked for the greatest hits.

I told my mom to buy used, but I don't think she like the idea of buying used Christmas presents.

lunch998 12-25-2004 08:46 PM
Yeah it is.

14 x 27 = 378*

*shows math because he's coo;Hopes he's right*
*Fixed, good try though.

Woodstock 12-25-2004 10:21 PM

Even if I do find used CD's, they're only cut by $2.

lunch998 12-25-2004 10:24 PM

Yea it's usually easier for me to buy new ones. I can't wait until tomorrow when I go buy some new Cds.

BillCosby 12-25-2004 10:26 PM

You just gotta keep scanning for deals on amazon.com

I've gotten 5 cd's for 20 bucks once. (not including shipping)

Yeah, but tomorrow is when the stores are the busiest. You'll get swarmed. Go on Monday. ;)

I got a Who DVD Live In Boston. It was after John had died, so I wasn't expecting much. It was pretty good, Zak Starkey is very talented, and the replacement bassist, Pino Palladino, wasn't half bad either.

True, when I order them I sometimes look for deals(usually on amazon). But unless I'm looking for something rare I just go to the local record store and not have to worry about shipping.

jpj 12-25-2004 10:28 PM

Hopefully, I'm gonna get Festival Express with all this Christmas money and blow the rest on more CD's.

But who doesn't want to be part of the shopping mob?

Yea I actually heard some good things about The Who Live at Royal Albert Hall, maybe I should give it a listen.

Seafroggys 12-25-2004 10:38 PM

Yay! For Christmas day I also got LZ2. So happy. My CD collection is up to 23 albums (very miniscule to some of yours I'm sure).

EDIT: It also seems like a lot of other people got Aqualung for XMas as well. Good times, and good choice. And wow, I hardly own any CDs :upset:

Illmatic 12-25-2004 10:39 PM

23?

Man, you need to record shopping.

jpj 12-25-2004 10:39 PM

I think mines up around 60, Badmoon has like 300 :(

I think I have 20 or 30 vinyl.

Illmatic 12-25-2004 10:40 PM

I have to have about 250-260 by now.

lunch998 12-25-2004 10:42 PM

Mine is only about 50.

Woodstock 12-25-2004 10:44 PM

I have about 80 CD's, then about 10 to 15 records on vinyl.

Badmoon 12-25-2004 11:56 PM

Hopefully I can get the Wall Dvd today, whenever I look they usually don't have it. This other store has it for 30$, but I'm not paying that.

DeusExMachina 12-26-2004 11:36 AM

I personally have around 350-400 CD's, my parents have over 1000. We're kind of music freaks. Don't have any tapes or vinyl though (vinyl collection burnt away in 1991.)

I only got one CD for christmas... Hard Day's Night. But it's ok, because I got a new guitar.

You shopuld record some banjo.

Badmoon 12-26-2004 12:08 PM

I lost two of my finger picks, and I'd have to wait till it's really quiet, but I'll try in time. :)

What should I buy? Cosmo's Factory or Willie & The Poor Boys?

NEW GAME!

Here is a tough (Actually very simple, but you won't get the simple way ;)) question. Connect Tom Fogerty (CCR) with Jerry Garcia.
