"the bootleg site"?????????????
Anyone want to do that Best live album poll?
Allman Brothers Band Fillmore East would probably (hopefully) win pretty easily. Runner-up would be hard though there's tons of good live albums. |

Live at Fillmore and Live at Leeds, it's a tough call between those two. |
Dylan live in '66
"Judas" "No, I don't believe you!"
Like A Rolling Stone was named greatest song of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, they named the top 500 songs. What's that quote from, the Last Supper? |
Live at Leeds has no low points at all, and I bet few disagree. While, I find the Fillmore East has atleast two.
Gov't Mule - The Deepest End The Grateful Dead - Europe '72 Blues Traveler - Live from The Fall Old & In the Way - s/t Not all Classic Rock albums, but none the less each is fantastic. |

Live Dead is mostly early stuff. And includes more Psychedelic songs, while Europe '72 is more during their Roots period, but contains more also.
I actually prefer Steppin' out: England, but few like that more. |

The Grateful Dead movie?
|
Hey badmoon, what Grateful Dead songs, after hearing them live, do you think were performed better in the studio versions?
|
badmoon, unblock me on AIM. I'm sorryz :upset:
|
Well above all, "Playing in the Band". But, the song is off of Bob Weir's Ace. So, officially it isn't even a Grateful Dead song. But it was originally performed by a Grateful Dead member, and The Grateful Dead were his backing band during the recording. And of course they always play it live.
Some other would be... "Dire Wolf" "Friend of the Devil" "Eyes of the World" "Mississippi Half-Step Toodeloo" "St. Stephen" "Mexacali Blues" (Once again off of Bob Weir's Ace) "Uncle John's Band" "Sugaree" (Though it was originally off of Garcia's s/t debut) Those are the only ones I can think of right now. |
What reviews should I do this weekend? Any ideas? Possible more Dead reviews? Others?
|
How about a Steven Stills album? i've been meaning to get one of his.
|
No, I like to do albums revolving around what I'm into at the moment. And though I'll take request, I'm not into him right now.
|
Fine, then do some hippie band.
Take your pick. *gets beaten up with banjo* |
I just heard that Cream was getting back together and playing the Royal Albert Hall after New Years, but its just one gig :(
If they tour US, I will be there.....the only one my age, since most high schoolers are noobish Zeppelin only lovers. |

Great. I love Blue Oyster Cult. We accomplished a lot of intellegent things today, didn't we? |
i love lots of bands, but it seems that this forum is full of people who i assume are middle aged men who are hardout into bands like led zeppelin and the like who were popular many years ago. are there any people in this forum that are into new age rock?
