Skyler 11-14-2007 02:27 PM

quick question, which say anything album would be best to pick up first?

Tyr 11-14-2007 03:11 PM

Probably ...Is a Real Boy.

ATM 11-14-2007 03:14 PM

Max Bemis annoys me to no end

:-x

Tyr 11-14-2007 03:17 PM

I'm no fan either, but I seem to recall that this was the album that Vince recommended.

ATM 11-14-2007 03:21 PM

My old co-workers would play that album non-stop until I wanted to kill somebody.

They were like "YOU WILL LOVE THIS LET IT GROW ON YOU"

Tyr 11-14-2007 03:21 PM

I feel your pain, man.

AA-12 11-14-2007 03:22 PM

I hate this crap so much even though it's true at times :x

ATM 11-14-2007 03:23 PM

Yea, most of my favorite albums had to grow on me. But, I stood my ground on that one.

TojesDolan 11-14-2007 03:25 PM

... isa real boy

Iluvatar 11-14-2007 04:24 PM

In Defense of the Genre is better.

gmoneyguy 11-14-2007 04:30 PM

So, I was out taking specs of apartment units, and I went into one apartment that had the dead roaches all over the floor. It was beautiful.

Steerpike 11-14-2007 04:36 PM

Here's a rough draft of a conversation I'm sticking in a screenplay inspired by a very real conversation with my brother Nick. The very first sentence in this scene contains the exact words that inspired this whole thing.

CAFE – DAY

BRANDON
(reading newspaper)
Man, this is the hardest Slylock Fox ever.

YURIKO
I didn’t know you still read that.

BRANDON
You don’t?

YURIKO
Not since I was a kid.

BRANDON
They’ve been getting pretty challenging. There’s just one thing I don’t get.

YURIKO
Oh god, here we go… What don’t you get?

BRANDON
All these animal folk keep getting victimized by the same con men. Shady Shrew, Count Weirdly… they never learn.

YURIKO
So?

BRANDON
So how is it that Slylock Fox is the only who ever sees through these scams? Would you give money to a guy named Shady Shrew?

YURIKO
Maybe they’re all just retarded.

BRANDON
Oh my god! You’re right! Slylock Fox is the caretaker to an entire colony of dangerously stupid anthromorphs and mutants. It’s all clear to me now. Except…

YURIKO
Except what?

BRANDON
If it really is a colony of freaks, that explains assholes like Count Weirdly… but then why is it Slylock Fox never gets called in on any serious crimes? How come he never has to solve anything really cool like a triple homicide?

YURIKO
I’m not having this conversation with you.

Deth 11-14-2007 04:43 PM

I like it, hopefully you'll find some actors who can pull it off.

AA-12 11-14-2007 04:45 PM

Nicolas Cage and Stretch Armstrong.

Iluvatar 11-14-2007 04:45 PM

I will be in your production.

Eliminator 11-14-2007 04:45 PM
YURIKO

that line kind of doesnt work
maybe it depends on how the actor says it

Steerpike 11-14-2007 04:56 PM

If I had my way, it would be Matt Damon and Devon Aoki.

I keep thinking of Matt's line in Dogma. "This is why we're here on a Saturday? This is why I'm missing my fucking cartoons?"

This script is one I'm saving up for the chance to direct and real big budget movie.
that line kind of doesnt work

More than likely, I'm going to break this up into a series of short conversations as a motif throughout the movie. Countless rewrites will ensue.

So yeah, that line doesn't really work as is, but I somehow doubt that exact wording will make it into the finished product.

superpeer 11-14-2007 05:03 PM

I don't know what that was about. )':

ATM 11-14-2007 05:04 PM

That was good, Alex.

pate 11-14-2007 05:04 PM

I don't either. @Jel

Jel, you'll be happy, tomorrow I have to give a nine minute speech on our gun rights. yay

Kage 11-14-2007 05:05 PM

Rewrites are for pussies.

Shattered_Future 11-14-2007 05:06 PM

I like it. It's just like something Quentin Tarantino would write...it has absolutely no relevance to anything else in the movie and I don't understand it, but I respect it all the same.

TojesDolan 11-14-2007 05:07 PM

Do you know who my favorite superhero is?

Superman!

Kage 11-14-2007 05:08 PM
Do you know who my favorite superhero is?

Superman!
That's disappointing. :-\

Shattered_Future 11-14-2007 05:08 PM

Mine is totally the Green Lantern. The newest one, mind you.

I haven't read comics in like 5 years though...:(
