Yes, we were talking about that just a few pages ago.

magicbus 07-01-2005 11:11 PM

I'll be tubing on Sunday. The pics might not be as exciting as Jake's, but I'll post em.

No you didn't. You were talking about how you like to go fishing regularly.

Im watching Monty Python's Flying Circus right now. God, it's pure genius.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-01-2005 11:16 PM

I'm gonna get to go fishing quite a bit as well. My dad bought the boat mainly for fishing (It's a Duckworth, if that does anything for ya) but it works just fine for other watersports, as displayed by my wicked sweet air.

Fixed.

I do like fishing occasionally, but I'm not much a fan of being bored so I'm not too into it usually.

Kurtz 07-01-2005 11:18 PM

So, I just came back from War of the Worlds.

Really didn't like it. I mean, the special effects were top notch, but I can't think of anything else that was worth mentioning that was positive; terrible dialogue, sub-par acting, no build up, and if there was a climax, it was way too late.

Also, how does nearly all of the tri-state area surrounding New York get destroyed [hell, the whole Eastern seaboard], yet an old residential neighborhood in Boston stay well standing? The ending is the worst I've seen in a while.

And the movie is very, very loosely based on the book.

This isn't even comparable to Sin City and Batman Begins.

I know, it's on my other comp, but not this one, and I'm very lazy.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-01-2005 11:24 PM

Just two. :)

Techincally the second one wasn't even a whore. It was just a subliminal attachment to something I was saying. :shifty:

NFL- I've not seen either of the three, but I've heard tons about Sin City being gold.

The 1970's version was waaay better. The original radio transcripts were the best though. I knew this would be crap, just like anything George Lucas makes these days is tripe. George and Steven need to realise that people don't like special effects when they appear in EVERY. SINGLE. SCENE.

Or when they interfere with silly things like "plot", "dialogue", and "characters".

Thor 07-01-2005 11:28 PM

^^
Or when they write crappy scripts so it makes Samuel L. Jackson look like a moron.

I found it more dissappointing than the other prequels because people were saying it was actually good. I didn't hate it or anything, just another major letdown.

ATM's Punk Show Adventure

So... I went to my first punk show ever, and it fuccking ROCKED.

The first band was called Her Daily Obsession:

The singer
Guitarist
Bassist
Another pic of the guitarist

The next band were called the Whips. They were INSANE:

This guy owned, he's the singer
Bassist
Guitarist, great riffs from this dude
Singer going nuts

I couldn't get a good picture of the drummer, but she was smoking hot. I don't think I've ever seen a girl drummer before. What a turn on.

I've got 2 videos if anyone wants to see them, just quick clips. One is when a girl jumped on stage wearing hot pants o_O

Yea, it was the best, but that's not saying much.

Endless Obsession 07-01-2005 11:42 PM

Our band just played at a punk show tonight. It was awful for us because we are metal and none of the kids that were there were into it at all. We only played the gig because our singers good friend wanted to play with us so we agreed. They also said no covers, but we played two anyway. They didnt notice them. Whatever I just know I will never do that shit again.

Spoken for truth. I don't watch them and just stick with the original trilogy.

I hate how George Lucas changed Anakin's face in return of the Jedi to the new Anakin. It's freakin' blasphemy.

As I am watching the movie Hero right now, I realize how awesome it is. Who else likes this movie, along with other martial arts movies?

I want to start a discussion about this because kung fu flicks are the greatest.

I only own martial arts type flicks and music on DVDs.

Hmm...I like Bruce Lee's stuff for the actual skill (as I actually do Tae Kwon Do), but Jet Li's for entertainment.

Thor 07-01-2005 11:52 PM

Jackie Chan's got it for entertainment, if you ask me. Rumble in the Bronx and Jackie Chan's First Strike are some of the most entertaining martial arts flicks I have ever seen.

Illmatic 07-01-2005 11:53 PM

I'm not a big fan of martial art movies and stuff like that.

BoboTheRagingHobo 07-01-2005 11:55 PM

Hero = more of an artsy film then a martial arts movie.

It was advertised as a fighting like film, but in reality it really isn't, every one should watch it with an open mind, quite a good movie.

ATM 07-01-2005 11:56 PM

I enjoy a good Kung Fu flick. I only own 2-3, though.

Yeah, putting Li and Tarantino in all the ads portrayed it poorly, but it was a good film.
