Ashes has been played live once, in London. I have the bootleg, not very good quality, but still good. I also have a Darkness (Of Greed) bootleg of when they play in a small record shop in 91. Pretty rare..
|
Ahhhh, I see. I still don't think it's even a RATM classic because I've never heard about them playing it at a show before. A real RATM classic would be something like Killing in the Name, Sleep Now in the Fire, Bulls on Parade, Freedom, etc.
 It's a classic in my mind. |
 It's a classic in my mind.
Same... assumeing were still talking about Ashes in the fall. |
Yes, we are.
|
Yes, we are.
Well I guess you can think that, because I think Wind Below is a classic. That song is just so perfect in every way. :D |
Another one of my favorites.
|
Yeah, Wind Below is the best song on EE by a longshot.
|
Yeah, Wind Below is the best song on EE by a longshot.
Personally, that's one of my least favorite RATM songs ever. Wait a minute....Are you Metal_Head_617 with a name change? |
i havent heard any songs on evil empire, is it as good as the self titled or battle of los angeles
|
I rate it just below the self-titled, and above BOLA.
|
BoLA>RAtM>EE
|
Enough ratings already. Anyway Audioslave is coming to town so the local station is having a RATM/Soundgarden/Audioslave weekwnd, but I haven't heard one RATM song yet. Not surprised, that station is terrible.
|
That sucks. I think Audioslave plays a few RATM songs at the concert. I'm seeing them tomorrow.
|
^ they do and they are pretty awesome. The soundgarden covers are also good.
|
They didn't before this tour but now they do, I know that they have covered:
Know your enemy Spoonman Bullet in the head (I think) I am sure they do some others as well but I can't remember any. |
They do an instrumental version of Bulls On Parade
Sleep Now in The Fire Killing Of The Name |
An instrumental version on Bulls on Parade would be rather repetitive and boring.
|
I love Rage! Brad Wilk is one of my favourite ever too.
|
Saw them last night, they played Testify. :D
I did a quick/small review in the Tool thread..
An instrumental version on Bulls on Parade would be rather repetitive and boring.
After the intro (wah part) they kick right into the solo then carry on from their and end it. At the part with wah right before the drums, the whole crowd went 'COME WIT IT NOW!'. It was the best moment of my life. :p |
I love Rage! Brad Wilk is one of my favourite ever too.
That's kind of weird, because Brad Wilk never really did anything that insane with the drums in RATM. He would always lay down solid beats, but I never heard anything from him that made my jaw drop. |
He can definitely groove though. Some of his riffs and fills are just perfect. Namely Vietnow.
|

Yeah, he lays down good beats, but he's not like a metal drummer that makes you want to bow down or anything. |
Ugh! I want Rage to reunite now!
|

EE and Out Of Exile are his best performances. Out of Exile has some really sweet fills and beats. |
Ugh! I want Rage to reunite now!
It's pointless, just give up like I have. :upset: |

After seeing Audioslave live, I don't know if I want to. Don't get me wrong, I love Rage, but man Audioslave is an awesome band. And if big Z's happy doing whatever it is hes doing, thats good to. :thumb: |
^^^
Audioslave may be great live, but that still ain't RATM. I hate to sound all depressing, but hey, I guess it's the way I am. |
Just got back from seeing Audioslave. They were fuckin awesome. They played Bulls On Parade instrumental and Sleep Now In The Fire. And Killing In The Name for one of the encores. They also played Hunger Strike and a bunch of Soundgarden songs. Practically everyone was standing and head banging to Killing In The Name.. They didn't play Testify to the concert I went to though :(

Sweet!!! :thumb:
In this extraordinary concert, Audioslave performs in front of more than 50,000 fans in Havana, Cuba. Don't miss this opportunity to see Audioslave, the first American rock band to play in Cuba!
That on direcTV PPV this month :thumb: , but read the bolded line there. That is just dispicable. |

I wanted to hear Loud Love or Rusty Cage, but they didn't play it. Ah well.. Did anyone else go to the Calgary show?
I'm definately getting 'Live In Cuba' DVD. |
That'd be crazy if they played "Jesus Christ Pose". Utter craziness.
|
I wanted to hear Loud Love or Rusty Cage, but they didn't play it. Ah well.. Did anyone else go to the Calgary show?
I'm definately getting 'Live In Cuba' DVD.
I was at the Edmonton one... Edmonton >>>>>>>> Calgary :thumb: :D |
No way. Calgary > You. The 30 Seconds to Mars singer said we were louder and better crowd than in Edmonton. I hated that band.
|
Maybe for that band, but for Audioslave, our crowd couldn't be beat. Not to mention we got Testify... :p :thumb:
Calgary sucks. West Ed pwns everything they have there. Not to mention Klondike Days. |
Actually the crowd for 30 Seconds sucked but whatever.
Liar, you didn't get Testify.. I'm actually not sure but I looked at the past setlists and it didn't say Testify. Well we got Temple Of The Dog song.. Stampede > Klondike Days. And West Ed does own.. |
ratm is so awesome, self titled is easily the best album ever. that is the only album where when I listen to it, I feel that it was entirely 100% about the music they were making and nothing else.
|

:upset: Fine.
Yeah well um.. Chris Cornell was wearing a pink shirt. |
