I hadn't even seen that but I just read it (search function ftw) and I think it's a little silly but meh, do as you like.

It's so disappointing to see the second generation of pop punkers I knew leaving. I don't like the 3rd gen as a general group as much. But then I still thought the 1st was the best so maybe I just hate change.
I was never around with the first gen. The second generation I knew the best and was great, but not as many post anymore which makes it boring for the rest.

No it shouldn't matter and if he gets it and then leaves, hey, at least he's gone on a high note.

I just think it's silly to be leaving.
I was never around with the first gen. The second generation I knew the best and was great, but not as many post anymore which makes it boring for the rest.
That was sort of my point. I felt like that with you guys at first, but eventually I warmed up to you, and I think that can happen with you guys and the new people if everyone just chills out and tries to have a good time, not **** a brick.

If I'm anything in here I try to be relaxed and nice to everyone as much as I can be and if people took things a little less seriously and relazed more like me I think everyone would have more fun.

I used to be real serious about this place but it's not as much fun.

Well I won't leave then. I will give the new people a chance and no "**** a brick". I may not post as much though.

skingle 08-26-2006 06:09 PM

Tbh I think leaving because you don't enjoy mx is like giving up. Why don't you try to make it a better place rather than quitting on it?

p.s, I know you are doing a lot in pop punk right now, and i apprieciate that.

Good :)

That's how I am actually though I hide it <_< If I'm not around here I tend to just be bored with you all or tired of something or another going on around there. If you step back every once in awhile it keeps this place fresh. Too many people on here get too serious though. You can be serious and do stuff, but not all the time or you get worn out. That's why mods end up leaving.

form 08-26-2006 06:12 PM

No no no, totally wrong mindset. One person cannot fix mx, ever.

When you think mx is broken, kick back and stop caring.

See, I wanted to fix it. Then I realized it wouldn't be able to be fixed, so I decided I would leave at the end of the month.

skingle 08-26-2006 06:14 PM

well, he set a good example this month. Maybe that will encourage others.

If you look back far enough, you will find a time when I did a ton of stuff on this site. I was going to single-handedly make this site amazing. But that doesn't work. I could've been distraught and left. But it's the internet and at the end of the day, I tried and failed and don't really care too much. I like the people here most of the time so I come for that. And the music.

Maybe but doubtful. But that's ok because people always come to 1 of 2 revelations: 1. mx cannot be raised above the standard it's always at and so i'm leaving or 2. i don't care how mx is because i like coming here so i'll come here.

skingle 08-26-2006 06:20 PM

2. Please.

I like most of the people here too, and I was an idiot for saying I was going to leave.

cobert 08-26-2006 06:41 PM

Wait, there was 3 generations of pop-punk?

I remember the late first generation, with Ste and Jas and Andy (still comes on a bit) and Joel and Vince and all those people, then I guess I was the sub-par big budget box office sequel generation, but who is the third?

masada 08-26-2006 06:42 PM

Probably retards like me?

cobert 08-26-2006 06:44 PM

Oh, right.

Okay, I think I get it now.

Hell yes! It's awesome seeing people who can both post about bands and get into discussion, and at the same time socialize with the regulars and old-skool members. Of course, whoring pics of yourself in the Photobucket thread made everything I just said pointless and meaningless.

I think it ups the anti.

Tjebby 08-27-2006 01:01 PM

I didn't know 1st gen. That was when i had ten posts a year... I'm pretty sure i started posting near middle/late of second generation. Then the third generation comes, and just doesn't stop posting. The DT is quite annoying now. I only post when I'm the only one up, because the rest is all just 20 pages a day of annoying conversations, almost as bad as "stick it in his butt" or whatever that was.

This place cannot be fixed. The boys in hardcore/emo made a perfect example of this. With the amount of tightwads and idiots mx has, this place is never going to get better. It sucks to see Brian and Spencer leave though. I liked them.

Its nice that pop-punk is one of the welcomeist communities on here, but yet your still forming your cliques. I did it when i used to post a bunch. It seems everyone does it. Its quite annoying. Its almost like that fued between the british and US, becuase its all just clique-y talk. It helps if you were to just chill down a bit in the DT, and take it slow. If you want this place to be better, not that it will (not trying to be pessimistic, i just know), then think about it. It's not that hard of a thing to do. I mean, PPOTM isn't structured one bit. We have a set of rules, and thats it. Its annoying that kids that don't even post in Pop-punk that much get nominated and/or kids that whore themselves with pictures or posts. The contests that Ian is holding, I mean thats great but, honestly, do we really need to hold polls over it? Each person has their bias against some musicians and others will whore their favorites non-stop. All this forum is anymore is just polls/contests. Every band thread aside from the big 5 or so (E.G. Green Day, Blink 182, Coheed and Cambria) stop at about twenty posts.

Thats my two cents worth...

/ends rant.

I just meant, how much do you post now?

If you post alot then maybe i'm not around that much. But, since you've been mod it seems as if you barely post.

I don't post as much as I used to, but I've also been really busy this summer, so I may start posting more once school starts back up, and I don't have something to do every night.

Hopefully there will still be a few worthwhile threads to post in. :p

Tjebby 08-27-2006 01:07 PM

I hear ya. I'm the same way with posting.

And I hope theres threads too. Matter of fact, I'm going to make one.
