Anyone heard of Deadfall?
They're from East Bay. I passed up a chance to see them in Berkeley tonight.
Never listened to them, though.
I'm seeing them with Common Enemy, I OBject!, and Witch Hunt in March. I haven't heard them yet.

Feel The Darkness 01-14-2006 03:09 AM
This thread is really active lately, so I just got an idea. Since this is the main discussion thread for Grind, Crust and D-Beat (throwing it in there since it crosses over with crust a lot), it should also have some education. So I think someone (I'm looking at you, J) should write up a couple paragraph explaination of the 3 genres. I will take these explainations and put them in the first post (with credit of course) And it doesn't have to be just one person, you guys can collob on it and such.
I'll see what I can do.

I saw I Object! tonight, awesome show. really fun set. they're staying here at my pad too, so they're busy watching Soul Plane, haha...me, ima get some sleep, as im tired. They are also cancelling the rest of their tour cause Ryan is having a family emergency back home, but I'm sure they'll still play that show since it's in March.
Yeah, I never got too into F-Minus, but what I did hear of them was good.

We're playing with them at some squat house. Fleas and Lice played this place a few months back; maybe you remember it? If not, I'll get you info, I'm sure.
F-Minus rules so hard. I love them.

Vietnow 01-14-2006 01:56 PM

AIRIC 01-14-2006 03:02 PM

Feel The Darkness 01-14-2006 03:15 PM

Yeah, that's Brandon's band. when i added the band, not knowing he was in it, he messaged me simply saying: " UP THE MX PUNX!" and said his username, and i just laughed.

Vietnow 01-14-2006 04:12 PM

AIRIC 01-14-2006 04:17 PM

whiteminority 01-15-2006 03:25 PM

Got the Pig Destroyer split with Orchid yesterday. It is fucking sick. I like this better than their newer stuff, it's so much more intense and insane. It owns.

Theramed 01-15-2006 04:02 PM

Possibly the best split in the history of the world.

Don't get me wrong, I love Pig Destroyer and Terrifyer was probaly the best album of 2004 but these songs on the split are just decimating.

It is all about personal taste, I personally love Orchid. But go ahead and give them a try. Their album Chaos is Me is where it is at.

Yes, you should. And listen to Ben, definitely get Chaos Is Me, it's fantastic.

Subvert_bassist 01-16-2006 09:03 PM

Hey, my band, Doves Lie Dead, just recorded some new stuff. Crust/hardcore stuff, a lot different than our old stuff. Check it out and give me your opinions?

http://www.myspace.com/dovesliedead

My personal favorite is Death To Humanity, because of the kinda Nausea-style breakdown towards the end. Raaaaad.

conniption 01-16-2006 09:10 PM

I dig it. The vocals are a little loud compared to the other instruments, but thats digging deep. All in all its pretty sick. I like the name too.

AIRIC 01-16-2006 09:11 PM

I like it a lot man. Are you Andy?

Subvert_bassist 01-16-2006 09:14 PM

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm Andy. I play bass, and do the growls in the breakdown to Death of Humanity and in the chorus of Your Freedom is Death.

clustifux 01-17-2006 01:05 AM

you guys changed Your Freedom Is Death SOOOO Much... you didnt change burn a doller bill did you? And Seen not heard is an incredible song.

Subvert_bassist 01-17-2006 10:07 AM

Yeah, we did a complete overhaul on YFID, but we left Burn A Dollar Bill the same. Just kinda sped it up some; put more energy into it.

clustifux 01-17-2006 11:17 PM

wicked....Anyone Heard of Wake up on fire? i just got their album from a friend...its pretty freakin good.

AIRIC 01-18-2006 04:49 PM

How is Riistetyt pronounced?

Feel The Darkness 01-18-2006 04:53 PM

Ris-te-tute

AIRIC 01-18-2006 04:56 PM

Thanks J.

NewKindofArmy03 01-18-2006 05:01 PM

Sweet, my band is playing with Electric Frankenstein, Resistant Culture, Mouth Sewn Shut(members of Toxic Narcotic), and BSOM March 3rd.

I really wanted to see Resistant Culture on their east coast tour, so it's awesome we're on the show with them.

Liebensaft 01-18-2006 05:03 PM

Not bad. Get them all to come to Red Hill.

P.S. - I don't actually know any of those other bands.

NewKindofArmy03 01-18-2006 05:06 PM

Electric Frankenstein are legendary, theyve been around since the 80s. Their artist is making horror posters for the show too, I can't wait.

Liebensaft 01-18-2006 05:09 PM

I don't listen to much hardcore, or any grind or crust. That might be why I'm unfamiliar.
