Wait why would you buy a lefty ray if you're right-handed...
He's left handed, but lefty rays are harder to come by and possibly more expensive.

lemoley 04-23-2009 12:46 PM

oh yeah i know i was just saying lol

and yeah i do think the knobs would get in the way

as well as you possibly turning them the positioning would be right where your wrist/hand is

well it is with my style of playing anyways

But he says in this post:
http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17198723&postcount=1315

....that he's a righty:confused:

lemoley 04-23-2009 12:48 PM

oh yeah and your pickup would also but upside down too which would mess up the output signal from your strings

however i have heard this only applies to certain types of pickups e.g just P basses
Wait why would you buy a lefty ray if you're right-handed...
It's a great price and if I could re-string it righty, I'd have a good-condition, sexy StingRay AND a case for $500.

I could probably just turn the pickup around inside the casing and it would be just fine. I'm only worried about the knobs being in the way. Everything else can be taken care of fairly easily

Eh...that's a good deal.

I'd rather have a nice Schecter or Carvin who's list price isn't much more than $500 normally and is meant to be right-handed and sounds and plays way better than a stingray...

but w/e floats your noodles :p

I could always buy it and try to flip it for a righty stingray, but idk how long I'd have to sit on that puppy.

I wonder what eBay has to say about lefty rays...

Could probably sell the lefty for more than you'd buy a righty tbh

That was my thought process. Sell the lefty for $800 and then buy a used righty.

I think I'm going to do it...

Soon my current list of things to sell becomes:

Conklin GTBD-7
Aria Pro II AVante 6-string
Lefty Stingray
'96 Fender MIM Jazz
Morley Dual Bass Wah
& other ****.

Maybe the definition of "lefty" in Scotland is different from here in the U.S. :p

nice pictures man (not in a ghey way)

what was the occasion?
nice pictures man (not in a ghey way)

Actually, that is from my senior picture photo shoot back in high school. I am terrible with posing (especially my face), so I ended up not buying any. I think the general stance and location of the bass is just so perfect that I didn't mind throwing this pic up.

The black and white ones are a random photo shoot my friend Krystal had been wanting to do, so we went downtown and found random locations to shoot.

lemoley 04-23-2009 01:51 PM

meh you look ok

im thinking of getting some photos taken but just might be abit pretentious

Nah. As a musician, you're an entertainer, and having well-done pictures is always handy. You never know when you'll need headshots and things of that nature.

lemoley 04-23-2009 01:56 PM

yeah that was my logic behind it

FunkMetalBass 04-23-2009 02:07 PM

If your school/school nearby has a photo club/class, head over there and have people take shots for you. Most of them will turn out damn good and will be free (they need the pictures for a grade). :thumb:

**** packing, its boring.

FunkMetalBass 04-23-2009 02:14 PM

^Agreed. I packed, loaded, and moved everything I own by myself last summer when my lease ended. It sucks.

The guy selling the ray just sent me an email that he would put new strings on it, set the action, and give it a quickie setup before I came over to try it. Awesome, time to tell him I'm not lefty and make a fool out of myself in trying to play the backward-strung bass.

lemoley 04-23-2009 02:20 PM

good idea man, thanks

I see how it is.

You're using this visit as an excuse for cheap manual labour.
