i've had the fall of math on my hard drive for months now and haven't listened to it.
|
You should in otder to have an opinion.
On a related note, I like zero7, pretty relaxing. And Brutal Nekkro Sex is an excellent band. |
i'm listening to it right now.
it's good stuff. |
Zero7 is okay, but they're too "chillin' on a beach with a Mai Tai" for me.
Ditto for Brutal Nekkro Sex too. >_> |
65 daysofstatic has it's moments.
yeah, theyre alright, i get bored with them though usually after two songs. |
i wasw told off by a friend for saying that i b asically liekd all post-rock. He, in actual fact, said "how can you say you enjoy an entire genre?" not 5 minutes after he said " I don't like post-rock really" and dismissed Sigur Ros as an "orchestral" band because he didnt want to admit he was wrong.
Anyway i nearly always like all post-rock. |
thats because you're stupid
|
so.
about those Dirty Three, and This Is Your Captain Speaking... |
I don't mind nearly all post-rock, but that doesn't mean I LIKE all post-rock. For instance, I just can't get into Godspeed You! Oh well.

to propellers
i like This Is Your Captain Speaking but i haven't been able to just sit down and listen to their album completely |
I am so fucking sick and tired of all of the run-of-the-mill, by-the-book post rock bands, with no fucking originality in their music, cashing in on the so-called "emotion" of the minor key, doing nothing unique except copying the format that Bark Psychosis and Godspeed You Black Emperor created, using old Fripp, Eno, and Bowie sounds from the 70s and passing them off as unique and thinking having a violin makes them the most original thing to hit the scene since indie pop.
Post rock is a dead genre, filled to the brim with crap that's so derivative it makes me sick to my stomach. Post rock is the new nu metal. What a terrible fate for a genre that showed so much promise, if only a few pioneers might have grabbed the torch instead of a bunch of weasling followers to cash in on the latest underground fads. All of it can fucking go to hell. |
I'm with Kage, I hate [insert genre].
|
Red Sparowes in the house.

Godspeed You! are the best band in this genre for me.
|
So there's this Italian post rock band called Ronin. I think they're pretty good in that they're not following the trend which Kage was ranting about and stuff. So here's an album which you guys may enjoy.
listen to esmerine
Will do. Thanks for the upload, Kayetan! |
I can't take credit for that upload. I took it from a blog. Ronin isn't an amazing band or anything, imo, but they're definitely a nice change of pace.

You guys need to check Maserati!
I'll third that, it was horribly meh. But I'll be sure to check out this band. |
Yea, Maserati are really really good.
Yeah man, one of the best bands within this genre I've heard lately. I just got The Language of Cities and it's very very good but I do prefer Inventions for the New Season a little more. |
what té album should I get guys?
|
