yes, definetly! wow, i err, have been out for a while again. but man you knopw how long it took me to read all what i missed? jeez. anywho, i think that an official thread would be great, and one more thing, you guys were talking about soundtrack songs by incubus, and some of you said not many were good. id have to disagree ( except familiar , ive never heard that) they are certainly different, but not bad. but one song that i definetly love that was a soundtrack song is crowded elevator. that song is amazing! if youve never heard it, ill be glad to send it to ya. glad to be back, lol. |

Crowded Elevator wasn't written specifically for a soundtrack though. It was left off of Make Yourself and was added to the (was it Scream 3?) soundtrack later. It's just my opinion that they don't do their best work when they are forced into specific guidelines. But I do love the Stealth songs. And about the Jazzmaster, I'm going to do my best to coerce my family into getting me one for my graduation present lol. It might be hard though considering they just bought me a Vox AC30 CC212. |

I was practicing with the church band and my parents said it was hard to hear me. The next day I had a Vox AC30 :D I will get a Jazzmaster before I die though lol. Don't get me wrong, the Mexican Telecaster sounds spectacular but I want the sound of the soapbars and the lessened sustain of the Jazzmaster bridge. |

yeah that track had to grow on me but i like it now..its from the Scream 3 soundtrack and its on the when incubus attacks ep. the "familiar" song we spoke of, which is actually one of my favorite incubus songs, is from the Spawn Soundtrack featuring DJgreyboy...you should definatly check that out if you havent. as far as the stealth stuff goes..i've said all i needed to say about them in the past pages.
yo i just ordered these albums off of cdnow.com...its The String Quartet Tribute to Incubus vol 1 & 2...never heard them before...i heard a couple songs off the website but it was live. |

It's very professional in my opinion. I've heard some of their Tool tributes as well; great stuff. |
hell yeah...i might have to get some of the tool stuff as well...although...whats tool without Danny Carrey?! the mans a beast
|

i have the tool string tribute. alot of the songs feel empty without a drum track, like aenima, and schism. if you want i can upload it for you, just send me an email. hyslop.simon@gmail.com |
urg, i dont know if i really like tool. the yare creepy, i mean im not a wuss, its just some of the stuff they sing about is just wrong. it was either tool or a perfect circle that said in a song " jesus is coming to rape you". now i dont know about you, but that definetly is craazy. its sad too because i know that that guy has an amazing voice and the musicians are asesome, i used to listen to them untill i started to hear some of the lyrics.
|
All of Tool's lyrics have a deeper meaning than what they appear to about.
|
well, singing a verse about jesus coming to rape you nomatter how deep it is, cant be good.
|
well, singing a verse about jesus coming to rape you nomatter how deep it is, cant be good.
I think you are talkinbg about Opiate "My God's will becomes me When He speaks He speaks through me He has needs like I do We both want to rape you" Right? It's just a condemnation of organized religion and mainly its followers and leaders; nothing special. |
is there an acoustic version of "sick sad little world" floating around...i think that'd be badass
|
is there an acoustic version of "sick sad little world" floating around...i think that'd be badass
Not that I know of. There's an acoustic version of A Crow Left of the Murder that you might be able to find (it was on the dualdisc version of the album). |
Right? It's just a condemnation of organized religion and mainly its followers and leaders; nothing special.
what exactly, do you mean by that? i mean, from reading your posts and whatnot, i can tell you go to church, i dont know if you truly believe in god , and jesus ( not all churches teach that) and you dont have to believe to go to church, but i mean if you are a believer you dont find those lyrics odd? |
AHHHHHHHH!! and yes about what someone said earlier about a clip in a dvd of brandon on the ground crying. yeah it was like a prank, cuz i remember seein it and like security walks up and starts to kind of get worried, but then you hear kilmor or mike say somthing like " its ok maN, he's just messing around." so umm yeah, i think it was on the morning view dvd. yes i have that, im not obssesed, i t was on sale or whatever and i wanted the dvd. so yeah its either on the morning view dvd, or morning view sessions. im pretty sure its the morning view dvd
|
I completely forgot about that dvd. It's the Morning After Sessions. He's lying on his side with a puddle of puke next to his mouth, pretending he passed out or something.

I'm a mentally unhealthy skeptic, to say the least. |

The bit about Jesus coming to rape you isn't literal. All they are doing is condemning organized religion and what it stands for. Perfectly normal thing to be talking about if you ask me. |
well , i dont want to listen to someone who is going to condemn my religion, obviously they think its wrong./ and its too bad because they DO sound good, very talented and maynard has a very beautiful voice.
