It wasn't going to be called anything before they called it Chuck.

When 'Chuck' took Sum 41 to safety in a U.N Deryk was joking around saying they are going to show their respect and name the album after him.

When the they were at the time of thinking of a name, Deryk (i think) brought up the idea of calling it 'chuck' and they all thought it was a good idea.
yeah, I know how the story goes, and yes they were going to call it something else, I just can't remember what it was

Bad Blood 09-10-2005 02:35 AM

Google it?

On every article i've read, it says that when they were thinking about names, they decided that one so they weren't going to call it something else before then.

yeah it's not in google, and I know that they didn't hardly say anything about it, but it was on their main site for about a week and I should have memorized it, but I didn't, and I now I regret it

I wouldn't really say that, I'm not even in the Goon Platoon, if I had fast internet I would be though, and I got to go to my brother's college dorm yesterday which has a T1 internet connection, holy crap did I download Sum good old fassion stuff or what, I downloaded every video audio anything Sum 41 I could find, I would have downloaded even more but they had LimeWire blocked

TheBassicBassist 09-13-2005 09:04 PM

Guess what guys, there aren't any more Sum 41 scheduled tours, what do you think that could mean?

Tjebby 09-13-2005 09:16 PM

They broke up!?!?!?!??! OMG THATS HORRIBLE!

DJ Ducksauce 09-13-2005 09:50 PM

^^^

If they are writing a new album, I hope it's as good as DTLI. That was such a good album. Chuck was ok. Not as good as DTLI IMO. That would be cool if they went back to their old pop-punk style. I highly doubt that though.

I like all of their music, I just hope they record something period

sumblinkdude 09-14-2005 10:13 AM

there probably aren't any more scheduled tours because they've just got off one. aren't they touring with yellocard anyway?

as for new albums,i hope its a mix of all of them. I do miss the odd Fat Lip-esque track, but Chuck is a great album that shows that Sum 41 can play instruments.

If any of you are on MySpace search sum 41 acoustic and you can here some say, pieces and no brains acousticallly, which is nice

Untitled 09-14-2005 12:23 PM

TheBassicBassist 09-14-2005 08:02 PM

I wish I could download those acoustic songs, but that's okay, I already have Some Say with piano and Pieces acoustic, I think they should go into the studio and record Some Say, and Pieces with the piano versions

and I think their tour with yellowcard is over maybe

frmautumTOashes 09-19-2005 05:32 PM

yeah, I've seen it like, four times, and I downloaded boath studio and live audios of it and I downloaded the video of it, I like it even though Ludacris isn't talented at all

DJ Ducksauce 09-19-2005 09:04 PM

Yeah, the Get Back version with Sum 41 is pretty cool. I have the SNL recorded somewhere, and I have the studio audio. I hope the new cd is good. A live CD would be cool also.

himynameistweek 09-20-2005 01:24 PM

anything involving ludacris automatically sucks donkeys for nickels.

Audiopond 09-20-2005 04:25 PM

I don't listen to punk really but I like Sum 41. Their lead guitarist(I can't remember his name) is awesome. I thought it was awesome that they did a Metallica medley at the MTV Icon: Metallica.

DJ Ducksauce 09-20-2005 05:53 PM

Yeah. The Metallica Medley is pretty cool.

Some new Sum 41 stuff:
Sum 41 has put together a documentary about the effects of war on children called SUM 41 IN CONGO. The band made the 30 minute special after their life-altering encounter in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which the band visited last year. Sum 41's experience in the war torn nation and their harrowing evacuation from the country are all captured on film in this amazing show.

The show will premiere on MTV on Wednesday, Sept. 21st at 7pm EST.

AddItional showtimes are:

Sept. 23 - 12:30am EST
Sept. 23 - 11:00am EST
chops 09-21-2005 07:59 AM

i only saw the last half of the documentary. it's pretty crazy how close they really were from dying.

Mild_child 09-21-2005 04:01 PM

What guitars are they using in the still waiting video? They were coolies!

/lame, n00b question

himynameistweek 09-21-2005 05:12 PM

i used to have the video. i don't remember. if i were to guess, i'd say deryck was using either a les paul or a tele, and dave was using a PRS santana SE.
deryck may have actually used the marauder in that one. i dunno.
Richard? (that is your name, right? haha...)

yeah, a new cd would be amazing, but it wont happen now for awhile yet

hmm, good way to put it, but anything that has Sum 41 in it is worth listening to no matter how much any other faggot jacks with it

Yes, that's my name, and I'm gonna be honest with you guys, I don't know hardly anything what-so-ever about guitars, I know a little bit about basses, I just play whichever ones sound good, I don't really know what they're called, and I don't hang out with anyone who does, so I don't really have any normal way of developing the ability, sorry everyone
