Drum virtuosity is not all that relevant when considering AC/DC's sound. But I do prefer Rudd to Slade but its nothing to do with skill, the bald head just doesn't do it for me.
|
chris slade was just a session player always has been same with simon wright AC/DC couldnt get permanent drummer for the band
I wouldnt call them session drummers. Simon was with them for a while. And as for Slade, he would have been there a while if they hadn't decided to meet up with Phil again. |
Simon Wright ended up joining Dio because he always had an infatuation with them according to Malcolm. Slade, I don't know what happened to him..back to session drumming i suppose.
|
sure....phil rudd is the biggest bogan in the band
i love him |
Chris Slade is better than any other Ac Dc drummer. just listen to Thunderstruck. Yes, he is better than Phil Rudd
I take it you've never heard any Dio tracks then... |

The early songs are only for Bon and the later songs created by Ac/Dc would only sound good with Brian, they sound totally different. |

I think some live stuff done by brian is pretty good that was originally done by bon like jailbreak on live i think is awesome. But I don't think bon could sing any songs that were written in the brian era. |

Dude Bon Scott is Alwayz ur best bet but in our band ill prolly be singin like Brian so it all depends but go Bon |
Please spell properly.

I think Bon was a better songwriter. Songs like "Overdose" and "Ride On"; I haven't heard anything like those since Brian came around (if there are songs like that, I'd appreciate it if someone could point them out since I've obviously missed them). Not that I dont like the guy, hes great, but I'd take Bon over him.
bon didnt write. ang & mal did.
I'm pretty sure Bon also wrote, I just checked the High Voltage and LTBR booklets to make sure. |
it may be credited ,but i dont think so. he might have helped though.
|
The reason that the credit to bon is there is because he wrote ALL the lyrics.
|
Does everone hear like bon scott over Brian?
yes. |
yeah Bon wrote almost all the lyrics for AC/DC back in the day, i think the only album that Brian actually wrote entirely was Blow Up Your Video, correct me if I'm wrong though.

Thought so. Thanks for clearing that up. |
So I got Powerage today and it has taken If you want blood...'s place as my favourite AC/DC album :thumb:

I think Brian has written a few albums. I was pretty confident that he wrote Back In Black. I'm not positive but that's what I thought. |
Yes he wrote from Back in Black to Flick of the Switch (or Fly on the Wall, I cant remember) everything after that he hasnt, he is for the new one though.
|
back in black is pretty good.. and very sentimental..first song i learned.

Anybody here like Rhino Bucket? They make rocking tracks and sound similiar to AC/DC. Another forum member posted a link to this movie trailored site, but in the background it has Rhino Buckets new tune. It's actually really good, take a listen; http://www.bloodsweatandbeersmovie.com/ Also, anybody fancy coming down to Wales for an AC/DC Convention? I'll be sure going. I've entered to win two VIP tickets. It's gonna' be a 'ball'! Tribute bands, shows, beer, weekend... Check it out here; http://www.acdcconvention.co.uk./ Also, anybody heard of this new DVD and Bookset coming out soon? Looks very interesting. Check it out, here; http://www.play.com/play247.asp?page=title&r=R2&title=632925&p=57&g=72&pa=sr |
Does everone hear like bon scott over Brian?
no bon kicked more ***! they start to fade after brian joined (even if back in black in black sold more copies than highway to hell bon kicked more ***) |
majority of people r saying Bons great cos he sang highway to hell and he originally song personally i like Bon and Brian but i do think Brian cant sing Bons songs cos he cant hit the high parts as well Brian has written on every album from back in black to stiff upper lip i mean like looks at it this way every song which has 2 meanings from back in black onwards is 1 of Brians e.g. let me put my love into you, given the dog a bone, sink the pink, hard as a rock
|
AC/DC, good band...
|
I'm currently listening to the Back In Black album. Good stuff.
|
