Umphrey's McGhee (sp?) and The Disco Biscuits were added. I don't hear a lot about The Disco Biscuits, but I really like their stuff on nugs.

Oteil and the peacemakers are coming to town, I've heard a lot of good things, and seen Oteil play with the Allman Brothers (but they didn't really allow for him to showcase his skill).

Anyone seen them live, or have a decent knowledge of what kind of show they put on?

I didn't like Oysterhead's album. It was too weird for me. But I also only listened to it a couple of times and it was a long time ago, before I got into jam bands and other more psychedelic stuff more. I should give it another shot.

I've loved jam bands for as long as I can remember, but Oysterhead's always been a little too out there for me. Incredibly talented musicians, and I like their separate stuff, but something never clicked.

I thought the CD was pretty mediocre, but their live show is great.

I thought it was actually really good, especially some select songs (i.e. Little Faces, Oz is ever floating, oysterhead, rubberneck lions, and pseudo suicide), and there are like three trey-sounding acoustics on there that kinda bring down the weirdness a bit. And they are three very talented musicians, and i think it was a great mix.

Nick Drake, kinda. He's from the late 60's/early 70's and not a jam guy but he makes good folky music. He only released 3 albums before his death but his last ([I]Pink Moon[/I]) might be the one your looking for if you like Ben.

If it's his folky acoustic stuff, then yea, you might want to check out Nick Drake. But also, if you like his more electric/funky stuff too, get some Robert Randolph.

Anyone like Tea Leaf Green? I'm seeing them Friday night. I've only heard one song by them, but my friend's a big fan and tickets were cheap, so I figured I'd go along. They sound pretty good from what I've heard.

I've heard very little, but what I did hear was great.

I haven't heard them myself, but my friends who have seen them all have very positive reviews

Yeah judging from this live show I just got from nugs, they're great. I'm listening to them cover I've Got A Feeling (Beatles) now. Great organ and guitar solos and solid rhythm section. Can't wait till tomorrow night. Tickets were cheap too, just 15 bucks. Good deal.

I'm pretty sure they've only released one cd and just released it like a month ago, but I was reading something about them on jambase and my music class teacher played one of their songs for us, called Well Oiled Machine. Download it and give it a listen, I was pretty impressed. Good lyrics as well as good bluegrass playing.

I assume the setlist is right because I got it off their official site forum. But outside of a few downloaded songs, I had never heard them before so I didn't recognize almost all the songs. Very long and awesome show. The keyboardist/singer was great. He played some really sweet solos, and had a great country-rockish voice that added a pretty unique sound to the band. The guitarist was brilliant and he was really on fire throughout the show. And the bassist and drummer were able to create awesome funky grooves. They just played together really well. Great show.

And does anyone know U-Melt? They opened the show and they were pretty good. They had some good playing and jams but their singing could have used some improvement.

Hot Buttered Rum is great, in the same ilk as Yonder Mountain

They're gonna be at All Good this year.
