Rush
Pink Floyd King Crimson Yes Van Halen Allan Holdsworth Dixie Dregs Kansas Zeppelin Sabbath Those are some of my favourites. I think there is a kind of revival in classic rock going on right now, but unfortunately alot of my favourite bands from that era are still unlikely to get much attention. |
This summer im going to see Van Halen and Deep Purple
|
 Take that badmoon! Not knowing Neil Young is Canadian... It's the one thing he doesn't know. Orr didn't know. Aww, now he knows everything.
That's cool (to all of the n00bs who posted their lists of band names). |
Paranoidd: Zeppelin tried a punk song on their last album...
Wearing and Tearing if you don't already know. Coda was songs that were already recorded dude. And yeah i knew that. It was recorded for the In Through The Out Door Sessions but Page didn't want it there so it got brought back to coda. |
Well you do know your shyt. You just make it seem like people created punk because they hated Zeppelin or something...
But my two cents to this thread, the Beatles are the most influential band of all time, hands down, no arguements. What they did in the studio is still being re-produced today. Everybody knows and was affected by the Beatles. |
I'm getting into multi instrument jam bands now such as lynard skynard and Bob Seger and the silver bullet band. A piano can actually be pretty kick *** if used correctly.

I agree 100%, there are times when the Piano fits in perfectly. Although a lot of times it ain't so good, it can work perfectly in some songs. Keep on rockin' man Segar kicks ***! |
I love Classic Rock! I'd venture to say 95% of the music I listen to is Classic Rock. Some of my favorite bands are the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin, Cream, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Dead, Rush, Jethro Tull, the Who, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles (I never recognized how good of a band they were until I really looked at them.) I could go on forever, I practically like all Classic Rock bands. I guarantee if I never heard of a band, and I listened to it I'd like it if it is in the Classic Rock genre. I have never found a band yet from this genre that I don't like. Classic Rock ROCKS! All this **** today sucks, all the rap and ****ty rock. I hope Classic Rock comes back in some new form. I'm only 15 years old, I really wish I was born back in the time of these groups but I guess that's the way it works. If I didn't have a computer I wouldn't know much about these groups and probably would be a drone to this ****ty mainstream stuff. I noticed a lot of high school kids also like Classic Rock. You know, Pink Floyd, Zep, the Doors, Beatles, AC/DC, Van Halen. I thought I was a freak at first heh, but when you think about it SO WHAT if you don't follow this **** today. I say **** them, we all need to get a little weed and classic rock and we'll be happy guys!
:p YOUNG IS CANADIAN
And Nash was English, but where did they form and get noticed? AMERICA!!!!!
Take that badmoon! Not knowing Neil Young is Canadian... It's the one thing he doesn't know. Orr didn't know. Aww, now he knows everything. That's cool (to all of the n00bs who posted their lists of band names).
Refer to what I said before. Here, I know Neil Young is Canadian, because he was in a band with Rick James in Canada, where he was born!!! I wouldn't say something if it isn't true. Never defey Badmoon349.
i think that the most influental band ever was zeppelin.
The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, ect... ^Even though 3/4 of them are not bands, but artists.
I'm getting into multi instrument jam bands now such as lynard skynard and Bob Seger and the silver bullet band. A piano can actually be pretty kick *** if used correctly.
In my opinion, in a (True) Jam Band, each member must play an instrument. Basically labeling those two out (Unless you count Seger's rare apearance on the harmonica, or guitar or something). But L.S. is really close though, they combine various genres, which once again (in my opinion) make a (True) Jam Band. |
And Nash was English, but where did they form and get noticed? AMERICA!!!!!
Perhaps it would be better to simply call them an international band. I like the use of pianos in rock songs, they come in quite a number of times in the harmony where many people don't even notive them but they provide more depth to the song. |
*bounces up and down* Got myslef Led Zeppelin II today!! I reckon its actually on level with IV.
DVG. |
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite album of all time... being its classic rock i feel it fitting to share this information.
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite album of all time... being its classic rock i feel it fitting to share this information.
Yeah dark side is great. I would say that Dark side is the best sit-down-and-listen-to-the-whole-thing-in-one-sitting-without-skiping-tracks-and-smoke-a-j-album ever. |
This is the best thread ever. So good I even use punctuation. Now this thread must be good. My favorite classic rock band is probably Black Sabbath, Because Kiss dont count as Classic rock, And I love Led Zeppelin. :thumb:
|
If anything Black Sabbath doesn't count as classic rock and kiss does. You have it backwards my friend :). And yes Led Zeppelin is awesome.
|
We don't have enough classic rock talk in R&M. Which is why I don't post here alot :thumb:
Led Zeppelin The doors Pink floyd The rolling stones. The eagles The who Van Halen x10000000000000000000000 :D These bands are the best ever :thumb:
I agree with you. Definatley Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and Van Halen. |
If anything Black Sabbath doesn't count as classic rock and kiss does. You have it backwards my friend :). And yes Led Zeppelin is awesome.
I wouldn't say that he has it backwards, i'd say both count but if anything he was right. |
I agree with you. Definatley Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and Van Halen.
What happened to The Who? Oh and that was like a month ago. |
I wouldn't say that he has it backwards, i'd say both count but if anything he was right.
Well if you had to pick one of them not to be classic rock it would be black sabbath because they are leaning to metal. And kiss is 100% classic rock. |

But that's just your opinion. And yours is not the same as mine. Not that it matters, genres are just guidelines to show similarities between music and no matter what you decide to call it the music will not change, but perhaps your perception of it will. does anybody know why the who cd's are so cheap?(not that i'm complaining) |
^Because people want everybody to be able to enjoy the rock gods known as the who.
|
does anybody know why the who cd's are so cheap?(not that i'm complaining)
Perhaps because they have not been remastered in a while. |
Now you're talking my language here! The Beatles, The Stones, The Who, The Band (you want a group that utilized the piano - listen to this band's stuff), Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Jethro Tull, CCR, Tom Petty, Bob Seger (who grew up 20 miles from my home town), that's what fills my CD player most of the time.
|
Whatever happened to the "See guys, I'm a Classic Rock maestro" guy
|
With the Nirvana avatar? If you mean him then... x 1967
