fishllama....sounds good. The splash is as loud as the other cymbals.......

JoctorDosiah 05-19-2008 12:58 PM

Im sure that is great for your eyes! No really - that can't be good for ya.

I will grant the "preview" ability of material argument. For those who can not go check out a book at a GC, SamAsh or etc

On your second notion though - I'd assume you are younger. Get a job to support your chosen lifestyle. That's what all those people did.
And truly books don't cost much. The most popular (and useful books) are all under $20. My copy of Stick Control was $12, New Breed was $14, Advanced Tech For Mod Drummer was like $12, etc.. the books are cheap. Even comparing to novels.

Compared to my university book prices... ok lets not go there really... $100+ for a friggin book I only use for 4 months...

How are you Mr. Pink? Does the fight against the evil go well I hope?

Mr Pink 05-19-2008 01:00 PM

This is BERKS theme song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN0OYeVvyk4

Jet boy Jet girl.
Wanna take you round the world.
Jet boy I'm gonna make you penetrate.
Gonna make you be a girl.
Boo hoo hoo hoo
He gives me head.
Secondly, as mentioned, there is no realistic way you are going to really use a book on the computer for practicing without it being in hardcopy - that is unless you somehow mount your moniter so you can read if from your kit like a music stand.
The Elders whisper of a secret, a secret of a machine long forgotten in the darkest depths of time. No one knows how it came to be, or who first crafted it - all we know is, it's called a fu‪cking printer.

A well though out response. It indicates research and knowledge of the subject at hand. He take the points I have made and, one by one, counterpoints with valid counter point of view.
His closing POV is also very strong and shows a grasp of non linear thought as it applies to the matter at hand.
Well said BERK. :thumb:

JoctorDosiah 05-19-2008 01:36 PM

How unfortunate.

Sponer 05-19-2008 01:38 PM

I don't download any drum-related stuff (I downloaded two books I think WAR uploaded, but haven't looked through them yet). I dunno, I just like to have "hard copies" of drum-related stuff.

I'd like to say the same about music, but there's simply too much music I like and not nearly enough money. And it's just too easy to download music for free. But hopefully this summer, I'd like to start buying a lot of CDs.
You ask that question once a week and you get the same responses every time.

Just listen to all of their major studio albums and figure out for yourself what you like/dislike.

18" Zildjian A Custom Fast Crash
18" Sabian AAX Studio Crash
18" Sabian AAXplosion crash (cracked)
Fast crash...not very loud and fast decay
Studio crash....not known for volume.
And one cracked.
I feel that 18" is about as big as you can go and still have a clean attack. Even my 20" 2002 med crash is a little washy. I have 2 2002 18" med crashes and hit them both when I need max volume. Can't get much louder than that IMO.

I got a prayer rug in the mail.

We usually get one or two a year. I'm keeping this one and hanging it on my door, I think.
Everything sounds so up front! Especially the cymbals.

Do you hi-pass the bass drum? Sounds like it could use a little.
No i did not, i will try that out for sure.
if you hit them harder they would sound cooler imo

i like hitting drums hard
I do need to start hitting harder because right now i play very softly.
fishllama....sounds good. The splash is as loud as the other cymbals.......
Panopticon 05-19-2008 04:12 PM

My 20" Sabian Vault Crash ships tomorrow morning.

ace76543 05-19-2008 06:35 PM

i want some vault hats

fishbulb 05-19-2008 06:45 PM

They are amazing.

Here is some sweet, sweet audio of them: http://www.davidzych.com/marc/MayMixMP3.mp3

And also look at the 14" A Custom hats, they are pretty similar.

Fuzzy 05-19-2008 06:52 PM

Hmm, I had a 14" Clear Remo Ambassador lying around so I threw it on my snare, it sounds pretty glorious!

Hey Chemist, where didja go to college? and did you major in Recording Industries? I'm going to MTSU in the fall for Recording Industries, I figured I'd ask you whereabouts you went/how you got a job as an engineer.

i like how you slipped that audio that no one listened to in there so more people would listen to it

unfortunately i have already listened to it

but yeah, i want those hats

Fuzzy 05-19-2008 07:03 PM

Ace, who is in your avatar?

fishbulb 05-19-2008 07:12 PM

Heh, yeah, heh.

When i listen to the recording on my monitors the toms sound much much better and much less bad (for lack of a better word).

I think i'm going to screw the noise gates but instead EQ the hell out of it so they will sound more natural.

I'll record a better sound clip that is more hi-hat oriented to give you an idea of the different sounds you can get out of them.

ace76543 05-19-2008 07:19 PM

thanks buddie
Ace, who is in your avatar?
