I just seen war of the worlds it wasnt as good as I thought it was gonna be it was good at the start and then started lacking near the end.
I got a feeling from the previews that it would be a disappointment, and when I get that feeling, I'm almost always right.

I want to see that movie, but my town doesn't have a theater so I have to wait until it comes out for rental.

ATM 07-01-2005 04:44 PM

Hmm..

I think I'm going to my first punk show tonight.

Who is it?

ATM 07-01-2005 04:50 PM

This band called the Whips. They seem pretty cool, I might go check it out if I can find somebody who wants to go.
Can't help but agree there. I probably should be more silent than I am, though.

 Me and Jom are social outcast brothers!
Anyways, I am off to the funeral home, and tomorrow is the funeral service in the morning.
Argh :( Funerals are awful
After the funeral, I will then be travelling to the wedding, about a five-hour ride. I'll be there until Monday. It's just odd how it's a Sunday wedding, but then again, it's a holiday weekend here.

I'm not looking forward to both the funeral and the wedding/reception.
I'm sure you can find something good about the wedding reception. Bridesmaids perhaps?
But, I hope you all have great weekends. To my American compadres, happy Independence Day/July 4th. If you light fireworks, make sure you don't keep them in your hand or anything. Not good times there.

I'll be back Monday, but by the time I get back, I have to close at the restaurant. Hopefully we won't be busy because of the holiday.

Besides, I take it I won't be missing much around here.

Anyway, take care, and have a good weekend.
Well, I hope you have as nice a weekend as possible.
And that's a nice website. ;)

Think I should go?

Lord Abortion 07-01-2005 05:06 PM

Hey folks,

so my lead guitarist in one band and the rhythym player in both, both got sacked from my work for stealing, putting JD through the tills as cheap wine, they had the misfortune to be spotted doing this and were both sacked, bugger.

they were putting the stuff through and one of the supervisors happened to spot them. They got away with it for ages before hand so it was vey unlucky...
I was quitting anyway because they have no holiday space left and I already have a holiday booked, but this gives me an excuse to leave, I was only working there because I liked my co-workers, but the ones I get on with have all gradually left, now these guys have gone I have no reason to stay there.

Are you talking about an actual frosty from Wendy's, or is it some obscure alcoholic beverage that I have never heard of as I don't drink and therefore know nothing about drink names.

Has anyone seen War of the Worlds?

I was thinking of seeing it with a few friends in an hour or so.

magicbus 07-01-2005 07:28 PM

I saw it yesterday, I liked it, and I'd recommend it.

Nice avtar BTW. :thumb:

So I restrung my guitar. Discuss.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-01-2005 10:16 PM

Today I went boating with my parents. It owned big time. I wakeboarded most of the time(pic coming soon) and then I drove my dad around on the wakeboard and kneeboard. For an old guy, he can get around pretty good on em.

In this link, Jake gets huge air and makes a funny face

RCA 07-01-2005 10:20 PM

I've always wanted to try wakeboarding...is it easy to learn the basics?

Permanent Solution 07-01-2005 10:21 PM

Water skiing>>>Wakeboarding

/is a skiier (sp?)

I've actually never tried Wakeboarding, but I love most water sports.

lunch998 07-01-2005 10:22 PM

I hear it's hard. Most people don't even get up correctly their first time.

wakeboarding is awesome! unless you wipe out

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-01-2005 10:25 PM

RCA- It's hard at first, but like everything good in life, it's worth learning.

Vince- Yeah, I've tried both, and they're both a blast. I mostly slallom because it's fun just to see how sideways I can get.

Lunch- I got it on my fourth try. I thought it would be more like snowboarding, but it's totally different. In snowboarding, you actually have to learn how to keep an edge, but with the wakeboard, due to the fins, you really can't ever wash it around like you can on a snowboard.
I hear it's hard. Most people don't even get up correctly their first time.
If people do something right the first time they try they're very talented.

I did get up on my first time water skiing, but I'd been skiing 6+ years at that time i think.

RCA 07-01-2005 10:33 PM
RCA- It's hard at first, but like everything good in life, it's worth learning.
Cool, I'll have to ask my uncle if we can go next time I'm visiting.

lunch998 07-01-2005 10:36 PM
If people do something right the first time they try they're very talented.
Depends on what it is. And it shows that wakeboarding is hard. It doesn't seem that getting up would be the hard part, but apparently it is.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-01-2005 10:43 PM

It also depends a lot upon your age. I didn't get up my first time when I tried skiing at the age of 8, but that doesn't mean that I suck. :p

Lunch- Ehh, staying up is pretty hard at first as well. There's always more obstacles, it seems.

lunch998 07-01-2005 10:44 PM

Well, I meant getting up is one of the hard parts, where as to us outsiders it doesn't seem like it would be that difficult.

RCA 07-01-2005 10:45 PM

Watching other people makes it look so easy, and fun.

Illmatic 07-01-2005 11:09 PM

The only water sport I'm fond of is fishing.
