/bazing.

I am beginning to feel that if i like their latter stuff they are losing it as a metal band.

I rarely listen to metal, if it doesnt catch me quickly i change the station usually.

Metallica caught me with sandman and i have liked load/reload. but relistening to mop and rtl has me seeing how they have changed from their early stuff. i mainly like pink floyd/ac-dc and rush type music along with classic rock and blues. i think metalica is falling into that style.

Squirrel 02-11-2005 11:12 AM

No, for two albums they has an obvious bluesy influenced sound, noway are they falling into that style.

Since nobody else has taken a crack at answering all these, I'll give it a shot.

1) Hugh Tanner

2) Lloyd Grant

3) A sticker factory

4) Lloyd Grant

5) "No, what do YOU want me to play".

6) Mechanix

7) Ron McGovney
- His parents allowed him to live there, because their house was going to be demolished to make way for an interstate and they had a few rental houses.
- He taught him how to play bass.
Dude, you rock ! All answers are correct, except:

2 - On the very first recording of Hit The Lights (for MM) Mustaine played leads but they decided to keep second lead of Grant becuase they liked it more that Dave's.

So it was:
Lead 1 - Dave / Lead 2 - Lloyd / Lead 3 (the big one) - Dave

:thumb: awesome

Andrue 02-11-2005 11:19 AM

I havent listened to anything past reload. what other Cds are out after that?

Jack Rabbit Slim 02-11-2005 11:28 AM

Hey, i don't know if this has been asked before (i'm not sifting through 500 odd pages of posts lol, and i think the title might come up quite a few times in a search) but has anyone read the unofficial biography of Metallica by Joel McIver called ...And Justice For All? It's given me a great look into the whole of metallica, including some of the motivation behind the whole Napster issue  and their early days. If you havent - I heartily recommend it :D

btoto 02-11-2005 11:28 AM

S&M , Garage Inc and St.Anger

Andrue 02-11-2005 11:41 AM

Thanks I will have to pop out and get those, i figured there may be 1 more but not 3.

Jack Rabbit Slim 02-11-2005 11:48 AM

There's Live S**t : Binge and Purge as well, but i'm not sure when that was out

Andrue 02-11-2005 12:48 PM

I think I saw some kind of concert dvd package advertised the other day. is that worth getting?

KILO5203 02-11-2005 12:55 PM
I think I saw some kind of concert dvd package advertised the other day. is that worth getting?
yeah thats the live sh*t package. its definatly worth it. i got it for only 25 dollars. 3 cds and 2 dvds.

Andrue 02-11-2005 01:00 PM

I saw a post a few days ago saying their live act wasnt so good, thats why i was hesitating against any live stuff or dvds.

Huber 02-11-2005 01:03 PM

Whoever said that was vastly wrong.

munky_magik 02-11-2005 01:06 PM

Metallica's live shows aren't as good as everyone makes them out to be.
They put on fairy solid performance, but that's about it.
If you really lke metallica, you'll enjoy Live shit. If you aren't a massive fan then you'll enjoy it much less.

Andrue 02-11-2005 01:07 PM

well i think it was a debate on them being a studio band and piecing bits together in the studio to overcome their inability to play it in one stretch and seeing them live was a disapointment. but there was a few opposing oppinions also. i went to metallica.com. the set i think i saw advertised (must have been mtv i guess) was "Some kind of monster" dvd.

benfan 02-11-2005 03:40 PM

live shi.t is ok, pretty good,i also think cunning stunts is good, apart from sometimes james's voice breaks

ironsandman32 02-11-2005 03:50 PM

where in the he** did you get that for only 25 dollars!

btoto 02-11-2005 03:56 PM

My father bought me Live $hit when he was in London about 6-7 months ago. I guess it was 52 pounds or something.

I don't believe 2 DVDs and 3 CDs can cost anything near 25 dollars

guitarcreep13 02-11-2005 04:07 PM
S&M , Garage Inc and St.Anger
Ummmmmmmm, you know what? I think I should say go with S&M. I think it is best.

Have a nice day now. Most of the time, they have that package for pretty cheap. Try eBay too.

Burdcheese 02-11-2005 04:23 PM

Guys - posting hyperlinks really isn't that hard...

high_speed_dirt120 02-11-2005 08:24 PM

Live $hit is awesome

tool_greg 02-11-2005 09:29 PM

I play guitar. I'm not a beginner and I've passed the Green Day and Nirvana step. Do someone know Metallica songs that are playable?

shawnson 02-11-2005 10:22 PM

live shi.t is awesome....

hmm most metallica songs are easy to play, minus the solos and most of master of puppets... but some good starters are enter sandman, seek and destroy and nothing else matters or unforgiven if you have an acoustic.
