Kill'em all

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 01:37 PM
just take a break man. It helps a lot
I just did for 10 mins to come here and my hands cooled down a bit so I had to drop the tempo 20bpm and now they're asking me to be quiet, wtf

He's going in 20mins, I'll start back up then.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 01:49 PM

yea, dont let em get to ya. That will just break your concentration

160 bpm, 16th notes?

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 01:51 PM

Yeah, especially since I get stressed easily too.

16th notes yes.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 01:58 PM

nice man...

COUGHprickCOUGH

hey, you gotta learn the intro to a liquid tension experiement song. Fukking pwns. not sure if JP is up your alley. Its 155 bpm, 16th notes. I cant quite get it.

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 02:00 PM

Universal Mind amirite?

Shadows 02-15-2006 02:01 PM

What's the name of the song?

I should be able to play 155 bpm 16th notes easily...surprisingly.

repcak 02-15-2006 02:05 PM

if i would practice the interlude of Lake bodom every day, i would be able to play it at 144bpm (someday)... but i can't :upset:
i guess, i can play it at 100bpm...

@MrDuCran: how many years do you actually play guitar?

Toaster 02-15-2006 02:06 PM

It's not just on adjacent strings, it skips the B string. It's actually pretty tough to pull off the picking pattern, you should check it out. The name is Universal Mind.

I've been playing for 4 years.

Haha yeah, Universal Mind is NOT easy, and plus you've got to match the talent of JP lawl.

I was also going to record Lake Bodom but I haven't learn the other parts.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 02:37 PM

yea, i get it up to about 120-130.

I really dont work at it too hard. Maybe about once a week for 20 minutes

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 02:57 PM

I just tryed it. I learn it ages ago so I kinda knew how it went, got the first bar at 120 then I had to shh cause my sister went to bed but I'll need to learn the alternate endings, they're the trickest bits.

It's actually easier than it looks cause if you write the picking strokes underneath each note, it's all outside picking. :)

kurrpt 02-15-2006 02:58 PM

yea, when he moves up to the 20th fret, i just omit a 16th note so i can nail the position switch, and stay in time

cheating much

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 03:01 PM

ha, i doubt anyone would notice anyway

i also love paradigm shift, when i first heard it iwas just like

dang

kurrpt 02-15-2006 03:12 PM

yea, thats the WHOLE reason i started sweep picking

i realized that my notes starting bleeding together, and that i would have to work on left hand muting. What better way then to start sweepign

Thanks, I'll check it out. A challenge would be good for me.

kurrpt 02-15-2006 03:26 PM

haha

challenge? How about a 2-6 month hiatus

Shadows 02-15-2006 03:29 PM

:(

No faith in me? I give myself one month tops. By then I'll have it down.

repcak 02-15-2006 03:33 PM

kurrpt 02-15-2006 03:45 PM

Heheh...I'm a little doubtful since I haven't even heard the song yet, but I'll sure as hell see if I can nail this. In one month I'll post a recording if I can play it. If not, you have a good reason to laugh and flame me for many years to come.

But until then it's time to put on my  face and play a lot of guitar.

EDIT: Listening now. If I work my *** off it's definitely possible. We'll see how I do. :)

Is there a good tab, preferrably a GP file, for this song?

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 03:56 PM

Ya, I'd punch myself hard in the nuts if you could play it JP stype in a month.

Kurrpt and Ben, do you guys have any recordings of you playing??

repcak 02-15-2006 04:04 PM

@ShadowsFallen: yeah that would be great,thanks: repcak@gmx.at

Unfortunately no, I don't have ny recordings of myself.

Okay, I've got a GP tab for the song, supposedly perfect. I'll start now. :)

If I get this it will be the first time I've ever posted myself playing. Logistically I should be able to do it in no time since I warm up faster than this lick is played, but you never know.

MRDuCran 02-15-2006 04:18 PM

We look forward to hearing it.

Toaster 02-15-2006 05:23 PM

I'll post my version, we can make a comp of it. :p

Aren't you forgetting about the death metal competition, Shadows?

repcak 02-15-2006 05:23 PM

 the reggae rhythm at the end and the last few seconds of the song were fantastic :D funny

do you want to learn the whole song in one month or only the solo?

Shadows 02-15-2006 05:26 PM
do you want to learn the whole song in one month or only the solo?
It's just the lick during the intro.

What about it?
