it helps us make better ones via experiences of others with people, products, and services

hate to use dating sites as an example, so I'll say look at amazon. Customer reviews on products.

before the internet word of mouth was dominant. A sample size of 100 is more accurate than the size of 1. The opinions of the many generally outweigh the opinions of the few.
how are amazon customer reviews or just about anything on the internet that is not a formal publication not "word of mouth"

Stevie 08-22-2011 06:04 AM

the internet also means that people like you, and to some extent me, can hide in the comfort of their homes and do the majority of socialisation online rather than go out and experience the world. sure you can meet people and make good connections but you can also make more meaningful connections with people outside of the internet if you persist a little instead of just making some sweeping judgement about those you meet outside of the internet

adbforever 08-22-2011 06:05 AM

it means that cultural traditions are more for special situations, as I've stated.

reviewing people on the internet doesn't work and can't because getting personal can equate to a lot of potential trouble with anyone you know irl

there is no perceived risk with strangers, however.

Haz 08-22-2011 06:06 AM

wtf are you talking about

brent loses his marbles
how are amazon customer reviews or just about anything on the internet that is not a formal publication not "word of mouth"
they are, but theres more of them available

sample size of 50 is the norm in marketing research for getting a decent idea of anything

(*The Noonward Race*) 08-22-2011 06:07 AM

technology has alienated us though, we are becoming asphyxiated in the depths of our own egos, we do not think together, cognitive dissonance is something to be considered at all times now, we do not need to be cohesive for survival

Stevie 08-22-2011 06:07 AM

my point is that if the majority of people are normally right then perhaps the vast majority of people over thousands of years who have valued marriage know better than you, brent

Stevie 08-22-2011 06:09 AM

we are more connected to people - ie we can make contact through facebook, internet forums, etc but who can say that these things have really aided our social lives?

adbforever 08-22-2011 06:12 AM

it depends on their level of specialization stevie

people who review products are usually more emphatic and knowledgable of a category of products

Stevie 08-22-2011 06:12 AM

wtf does that have to do with marriage or traditions

(*The Noonward Race*) 08-22-2011 06:14 AM

well comparing our history there is little difference between considering the rise of the internet and the advent of electricity, within the smallest bit of recent past because of things like these communications our need for a social life has become almost nonexistent, maybe that is unhealthy.

Glitterati 08-22-2011 06:14 AM

i don't think aaron could have predicted that him briefly mentioning his wedding would have resulted in yet another late night brent gang-bang

he'd probably just smile that goofy smile and then bang his cute fiancee

adbforever 08-22-2011 06:18 AM

I can't value traditions or marriage when the internet exists

when I was talking about biproducts, I can use the internet as being a biproduct of shaping why I believe marriage, and traditions in general are horse shit

marriage has little to appeal to me at this age

you've made me aware personal experiences in specific situations are obviously things that the internet doesn't really have unless you specifically communicate with others whom are older and more experienced in certain ways.

Glitterati 08-22-2011 06:19 AM

brent must still be feeling pretty confident at this point, he hasn't posted any 4chan pics or replied to someone's post by just posting their avatar

why have you narrowed down that so much? the majority of participants on the interent are of our generation and so don't have the life experiences that our elders have.

besides, i'd say this is a pretty rare site forum on the internet where you could get some good advice on things from people

i've found that i've needed my parents advice more now that i'm moving from the world i do know - education - to the adult world of jobs, responsibilities, independence, etc.

adbforever 08-22-2011 06:26 AM

implying I would date a girl who'd want to start a family ever

"hey, you may percieve that mister, but common sense told me that demographics and marketing, marketing, the cover signifies, listen closelyYYYYYYYY :explodes:"

adbforever 08-22-2011 06:32 AM

I really fucking wish more 50 year olds like jaylink existed

Stevie 08-22-2011 06:33 AM

Morumbar 08-22-2011 06:36 AM

Eh, true.

It's a Panzerfaust shirt. I don't wear it too often.
it depends on the marriage. a dyfunctional one is awful for raising kids, staying together just for the sake of their kids..I have first hand experience of that

my rebuttal is DON'T HAVE KIDS. I could never be w/ a girl who wanted kids

I'm adamant in my view of kids. They're god awful.
You're the size of kids. Do you find them threatening? What's their salt and or taste rating?

Anyway, do what makes you happy man. But realise that your viewpoint is pretty weird and if you voice it don't expect people to keep quiet.

Morumbar 08-22-2011 07:30 AM

I wouldn't want to have children of my own, but working with children is pretty cool (above age 12 or so, that is).

nodding 08-22-2011 07:33 AM

oh so teenagers

2muchket! 08-22-2011 07:34 AM

If he voices his opinion it becomes hilarious though, high pitched teenage mutant ninja turtle voice going "LIKE DONT HAVE KIDS MYAN, IMPWYING ID EVER GET WITH A CHICK WHO WANTED LITTLE TURTLES MYAN, COWABUNGA"

nodding 08-22-2011 07:39 AM

i want to hear someone with a dry english accent saying cowabunga
