Hmm. It says "ripen naturally at room temperature..." If that clears anything up.

Oh well, I'll just keep looking, thanks Happy and Bartender.
I need you guys help for a science project. Does the sun affect how a banana ripens ? I mean, If i take 2 green bananas, put one in a well lit room in which the sun light can come in, and the other one in a dark room with no sun light. Will the one with access to sunlight turn yellow/ripen first ?

I've always thought that the sun does affect it, but I have a doubt now.
I fiyou think it's the sunlight that turns the banana yellow, than don't lay it in a room (behind a windows)
Cause behind a window sunlight is just the same as 'normal'
The glass filters out the UV radiation, and that's the only difference.

Necrophagist, Cattle Decapitation and Arsis are coming to Toronto in June... I can't wait. Anyone else planning on going?

Kingofdudes 03-05-2006 11:31 AM

Im going to an Opeth show on March 19 in New Orleans though

They're not coming anywhere near NC so I can't, but I'd love to seem them. Arsis is my favorite death metal band and Necrophagist amazes me.

Opeth's To Bid You Farewell. Pure freakin' genius.

Extreme metal has its limits for me, at least in the death metal aspect. Extreme black metal is great, but I can't listen to much brutal death metal, with the exception of old Cryptopsy records.

NP - Opeth - Eternal Soul Torture (raw, evil, awesome)

I'm sorry to hear that. I love brutal death, but extreme black metal gets boring very quickly for me, with the exception of a few bands. I heart melodic death metal.

Melodic death and melodic black metal are some of my favorite genres out there, though. Melodic always beats out brutal and raw music in my opinion.

Dissection + Arsis > Darkthrone + Cryptopsy
(Team melodic) (Team brutal)

Steerpike 03-05-2006 02:41 PM

You know, women are actually like extreme metal.

-Both are good if taken in properly.
-It's impossible to decipher what they're saying.
-Both can cause you extreme pain if one is not careful.
-Both attract hordes of men.
-You can control the volume on either one by working the little knobs.

.... Okay I'm gonna get slapped so hard for that last one.

I'll take melodic anything over raw and brutal, although sometimes I do enjoy some good ballsy brutal metal. I'll take Arsis over avy of the other three, but #2 would be a Dissection/Cryptopsy tie for me.

Crytopsy's guitar parts, while still being very cool, just can't compare to Dissection's riffs IMO.

I don't know, a lot of melodic metal uses the same formulas, patterns and progressions over and over. I find that more brutal metal isn't confined to using any progressions or formulas at all, so it can be more original and interesting. That said, a mix of both pleases me most.

Brutal metal falls victim to repetition and lack of originality much more than melodic metal. I like a mix, such as my precious Arsis.

There are a lot more repetitive brutal bands, but I find that many melodic bands that are regarded as being great aren't too much better or different than every other melodic metal band out there. Whereas brutal metal bands that are regarded as being great are far more interesting than the rest. Arsis are good though, it's just those out of tune guitars! :p
