today's pop sounds "plastic" to me. There's no emotion at all.
Yep, it's a sad time when a ringtone gets to number 1. |
i like that most of the people listen to crappy music.Few "real" musicians makes more diversity.
quality over quantity. |
No, but that's exactly it! You like what you like. I listen to classical, punk, classic rock, broadway (mainly the Phantom of the Opera), opera, some jazz, some blues, some guitar stuff and many different kinds of metal. Hell, I still listen to Green Day; *waits for the blow*
I'm not saying you aren't diverse, I was just ranting at the people who hate music just because it is in a certain genre. If you don't like rap, then I have no problem with that. That's a personal opinion. But if you just hated it for no reason and had never given it a chance, then we would have a problem. |

What a metaphor! It decribes it so...perfectly. :D |

Same with: "death metal is teh suck, you cant understand what they're saying, their lack of talent is covered by distortion"...doh |
I love rap AND metal so you can imagine how sick I am of getting in arguments.

I always get: "Death metal is the kill-your-father rape-your-mother nonsense." "Heavy metal is just a bunch of satan worshipping." And my favorite: "That's music? They don't evn know how to play their instruments!" |

quality over quantity \m/
i'm gonna end all my post with quality over quantity, it's one of my greatest things i've said in this forums. And yes, they are ignorant. quality over quantity, |
I have respect to all kinds of genres. The reason that I don't listen to country or rap, is that they aren't really my thing. I don't make fun of them or anything, it's just not something I particularly enjoy. I do think that there is talent in them. The closest thing to country I listen to is Lynyrd Skynyrd. The reason I don't like and listen to pop, is that I feel that most of the time, there is no talent involved. Most of the time the vocals suck (and are edited to perfect quality. I mean, have you ever heard that Simpson chick live? *gag*), the instrumental parts aren't impressive at all, mostly just chords. I see nothing special about the genre. But that's just my opinion. I also know that little girls are buying the albums of those sluts that "sing" and I don't think it's a good idea.
You're missing out...when it comes to pop, Prince is a fucking genius. Country's not really my thing, but Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson are pretty cool, and country-rock (like some stuff that Dylan and the Stones have done) is pretty good. And well, I assume you all know how I feel about rap. The only genres I really don't like are punk and ska, which I have given an honest chance. And what the hell is "quality over quantity"? Some sort of justification for liking one type of music? |
Mods need to check the troll thread.
And what the hell is "quality over quantity"? Some sort of justification for liking one type of music?
I take it as quality is not for the masses, no matter how elitistic sounds
You're missing out...when it comes to pop, Prince is a ****ing genius. Actually, ABBA is atrocious. |
Spanky's thread, lol. I bet money he got hacked. Anyway, who wants to join me in some CS: Source?
|
Pffft, we all know Ray is a dancing queen.
|
Ah. I stayed up all night to be able to be up early, at 12 noon I started to feel spastic and fidgety so I went to sleep. I woke up at 3. I always do this.
Chris Baer, I had a dream about you. |
Actually, ABBA is atrocious.
Pfft, only a closet homosexual would say that. |
quality over quantity is for everything, not just music.
and it's not a justification for liking one type of music, is for enjoying real music(ignoring the genres) |
Actually, ABBA is atrocious.
Is this a good or bad thing? (english not my primary language, I'm sorry :upset: )
Anyway, who wants to join me in some CS: Source?
What's this? |
Atrocious means horrible or terrible.
|
What's this?
Tell me you've at least heard of the game Counter-Strike....CS:Source is the Half-Life 2 version of Counter-strike, on the Source engine. Good stuff. |

I see and yup I've heard of Counter Strike although I'm a retard when it comes to games. They all make me dizzy for some reason.
Atrocious means horrible or terrible.
Thanks a lot :). Then Illmatic ABBA are not atrocious at all! |
Yeah they are.

Chris Baer, I had a dream about you.
o_O Um...what about? My sister has a MySpace and it is amazing how much influence I have had over here in the past few months. She didn't really listen to that much music, and lately I've been going with her to shows, and showing her bands, etc. She joined the Radiohead group, has pictures of Thom Yorke on her page, and even has Karma Police playing. |
Ok, so I'm in like a parking lot or something, Chris, and you walk up. You look exactly like Liv Tyler.
Me: Chris Baer! You: What? Me: Who is Doug Munro, and WTF is shootin Pool at Leo's? You: I dunno. You walk off. THat's all I remember. Then there was something about pasta, but you weren't involved in that part. |
/backs out of thread slowly
/calls authorities |
What, does Doug Munro and Shootin at Leo's have a meaning?
|
/hangs himself
ABBA are indeed atrocious. And I don't understand the big deal about Myspace. I think I have enough e-friends. |
Actually, ABBA is atrocious.
Blasphemy!!!! |
Weird, I just found out my other sister has it too. And her boyfriend.
haha check out her favorite bands: Belle and Sebastian, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Polyphonic Spree, Ramones, X-Ray Spex, Super Furry Animals, Supergrass, Smiths, Ladybug Transistor, Essex Green, Lambchop, Harry and the Potters, Hefner, Ellie Greenwich, Shirelles, Shangri-Las, and any Bubblegum music old or new |
Me too. I don't have a Myspace... But I do have a category on my buddy list labeled "MX."
I do too, and everytime I look at it I remind myself of how uncool I am. |
I don't even have sections for my buddy list...all my buddies are under one category, which is a hassle to comb through when a lot of them are on at once.
|
Mine is just divided into girls and guys.
|
I have guys, girls, mx, and family (cousins and a few of their friends).
|
I have guys, girls, mx, and family (cousins and a few of their friends).
I don't have enough contacts to have groups :upset: |
There are a lot of people I rarely/never talk to. Their primary use is "just in case". For example, just in case I forget the History homework, I can ask one of them.
|
I just seen war of the worlds it wasnt as good as I thought it was gonna be it was good at the start and then started lacking near the end.
|
I had mixed feelings about seeing that film. When I first saw previews for it, I thought it looked impressive. Then the more recent previews looked somewhat lame. I'll probably see it though.
