Yeah, I've heard Miss Machine and don't like it at all, for that very reason. Have you heard their EP with Patton or Calculating Infinity? Or Botch?

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:36 PM

Yes..

I'll list three reasons why Converge is heavier than DEP and Botch

# 1.) Bannon.
# 2.) Converge chugga chuggas, DEP is being technical most of the time and Botch is all about syncopation.
# 3.) Lyrically Converge is just a giant **** YOU. DEP is just stupid lyrically, and Botch tries to be political.
I think bands like Slipknot are a lot more likely to piss off parents than Converge.
No, bands like Slipknot are just more likely to piss off people that know better music and can see past corny gimmicks.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 03:41 PM

But parents? Are they going to be offended by artsy metalcore with indecipherable lyrics or ridiculous, blatant heavy metal with intelligible lyrics filled with "fucks" and stupid "demonic" imagery?

whiteminority 10-25-2006 03:45 PM

Guys seriously music that is most likely to piss parents off is music with lyrics that are able to be deciphered and these lyrics are saying things that annoy the parents. Hence Slipknot >>>>>>>> Converge, in most likely to piss parents off. The only band that has made my mom pissed is In the Nightside Eclipse because as we were listening to it it freaked her out and she said this, and I quote "Ben, this absolutley terrible." me "What's wrong with it?" "I want to say like 5 Hail Mary's right now for starters."

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:46 PM

Play Converge as loud as you can in your house right now.

10 bucks says your parents come in and say turn that **** off.

/taken out of context to look way wrong

whiteminority 10-25-2006 03:51 PM

Cob, you are a son of a bitch.

whiteminority 10-25-2006 03:53 PM

My parents would say that regardless dude. They believe it's all noise anyways.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 04:03 PM
Play James Taylor as loud as you can in your house right now.

You turn up anything loud enough, parents will complain.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 04:36 PM

James Taylor is a god.

cobert 10-25-2006 06:06 PM

My mom never really cared what I listened to.

So cut the cord that strangles your head
So cut the cord that strangles your head
and feed me bread

Matt? 10-25-2006 07:01 PM

botch > converge imo

whiteminority 10-25-2006 07:33 PM

Ooooh, that's a close one.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 07:50 PM

Not at all, Botch has like two solid releases.

Converge has like six.

RetiredAt21 10-25-2006 08:04 PM

As much as I like Botch, I'd have to pick Converge over them.

cbmartinez 10-25-2006 08:10 PM

Jane Doe is the heaviest album.

Uh no. Every single Botch release is good.

Truth.

whiteminority 10-26-2006 06:58 AM

Get Archetype Dfel. I haven't checked lately, but is their album still being pushed back to January?

bottlerocket 10-26-2006 08:33 AM

My Winrar 40 day trial is up and it won't let me un-.rar files.

Thoughts?

I've had the same winrar for over a year. You downloaded a bunk version. Dunno where I got mine though.

bottlerocket 10-26-2006 01:40 PM

Weird. I'll download it again eventually.

srt-4 10-26-2006 01:54 PM

whiteminority 10-26-2006 02:56 PM
I have This Never Happened right now. Archetype is their best you're saying?
I haven't heard the one you have but indeed that is what I am saying.

That song is so awesome and epic, I would love to see them play that live.

Matt? 10-26-2006 08:53 PM

i wrote two almost songs today.

feels good. but you know, i'll dump em in a week.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2006 09:30 AM

I have such a hard time writing songs. Everything I write, I hate.

SGlove 10-27-2006 10:13 AM

I get paranoid that everything I write has been written before.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2006 11:16 AM

Yeah, dude. I'm the exact same way.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2006 12:09 PM

I've really been getting into Neil Perry's stuff that has the soft parts. It's really good.

cobert 10-27-2006 01:44 PM

Me and my good friend drummer put together a cap'n jazzish song that goes from gay twinkly 3/4 timing to pop-punky 4/4 to xtra pretty 5/4. Its sickkk.

Then we made this short little weird Fugazi-esque song.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2006 01:46 PM

I still need to upload my song that sounds like Owen. It's really great.

cobert 10-27-2006 02:00 PM

Is there any vocals?

Eliminator 10-27-2006 02:13 PM

i write songs but i never have the means to be able to finish them
