It just doesn't flow...

The verse/chorus transition was a terrible idea. The vocals in the verse sound like nu-metal, which is disappointing because I had faith that the guy could pull it off. And I'm no stranger to cheese, I loved old A7X and I love The Showdown, as cb can testify.

EDIT: I'm listening to it again, and I'm not hating it as much. I might just have to adjust... we'll see. The guitar is still good, and the drums are WAY better than WTF. Not quite back to STST level, but better than WTF. That's the one thing I really like about this song. I guess I'll wait for the full album to pass final judgement. Their new fans still suck though.

This week was lame. The highlights of my week were bowling and punching a guy who's on the wrestling team, football team, and lacrosse team in the face.

On the subject of the new a7x song.... I like it. But thats because im a Metalhead, and love Power Metal with corny lyrics about wizards and dragons. I think they took a turn for the better, they could have become a stupid crying band and just gone to total emo whiny vocals, but they did what they want, and are helping bring back real metal, like Maiden and Priest.

I can't stand power metal's cheesy lyrics. The musicianship is great, but the lyrics really turn me off.

But what made A7X great is that they mixed up punk, hardcore, metalcore, metal, and "power metal"/old school metal flawlessly. It was great. Now they're very one dimensional and the excitement is gone.

Meh, you have to be a geek. Just as a point Bigsy, any of a7x's other stuff had elements of Power atall.

The intro riffs were cool and like Scott said, the drums are starting to get good again (I don't know what he was thinking when he dumbed down for WTF). But the vocals are horrible.
