Matt? 10-24-2006 05:21 PM

woodwell, postlapsaria, some natures catch no plagues, one dying wish

are my favorite songs.

i could do without the faster more distortion-y songs

one dying wish sort of fits that category but it's awesome besides when did we begin

whiteminority 10-24-2006 05:26 PM

Ariadne's Thread makes me cry.

Matt? 10-24-2006 05:27 PM

seriously :30 is one of the best saetia moments as i said before but edited out due to lack of point

pixiesfanyo 10-24-2006 05:32 PM

Saetia would be better if it was just Jamie, Steve and then they added a guy named Kevin.

whiteminority 10-24-2006 05:32 PM

One Dying Wish is probaly one of the best emo songs written ever:
As long as my eyelids are weighed down by desire and one dying wish
I will never know you when you appear

whiteminority 10-24-2006 05:33 PM

Saetia >>>>> Off Minor

pixiesfanyo 10-24-2006 05:48 PM

Nothing wronger has ever been said on this board.

bottlerocket 10-24-2006 06:08 PM
I would have Saetia play "Potlapsaria" and then leave.
Hahahaha.

Such a good song.
gav olive tree's still around.
Didn't think they were still playing...any shows?
Saetia >>>>> Off Minor
ROFL YOU'RE AN IDIOT

That statement is so backwards.

1) yeah they're playing tonight actually. they had a lineup change i guess w/ name change. dunno it though just saw it in a vlv thread somewhere. that's pretty damn tight though regardless.

2) i think they're equals. i really dig saetia but i feel like off minor has a way tighter sound.

3) my life just got uber f'ucked.

whiteminority 10-24-2006 06:53 PM

Gav shut the fuck up.

cobert 10-24-2006 07:37 PM

I agree with Saetia > Off Minor. Off Minor are still pretty raddddd though.

Postlapsaria, Ariadnes Thread, The Poet You Never Were, One Dying Wish, Some Natures Catch No Plagues, and An Open Letter are my favorites.

I dont see anything too wrong with the 'when did we begin' part in One Dying Wish, even though I do recognize the sceams sound kind of like Gollum.

whiteminority 10-24-2006 07:56 PM

I know people need to shut up about it, Billy screamed like a banshee back in the day big deal.

cobert 10-24-2006 07:57 PM

That final big 'when did we begin' gives me chills.

whiteminority 10-24-2006 07:58 PM

I like how one of the other guys comes in with the deep yell of it.

cobert 10-24-2006 08:02 PM

Hahaha, yeah, that was one of the first songs my friends heard from Saetia one night when we were playing Risk, and we were all yelling at each other over the game (if you've ever played risk, you know how it is) and then the deep dude came in and it got quiet. Then this one kid was just like "whoah what the hell was that?".

whiteminority 10-24-2006 08:07 PM

Hahahahaha.

I showed Saetia off to my buddy Zander (really into slow melodic stuff and Jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil) and he was like "so this is emo?" I said yes, he then promptly turned off the cd player and said "it's still a bunch of pussies." This made me laugh to no end.

cobert 10-24-2006 08:13 PM

Hahaha, thats great.

We didnt have anything to do in physics today, so my friend Tim, some girl, my physics teacher and I were all playing different card games, and my teacher was talking about how he's down with speed/power metal and how he used to freak out his roomate in college because he listened to Ministry and always talks in a near-monotone voice.

whiteminority 10-24-2006 08:15 PM

Your physics teacher is a creep.

cobert 10-24-2006 08:18 PM

Nah dude, hes radddd, him and the chemistry teacher both. The chemistry teacher is constantly lighting stuff on fire, too. On one of the first days of school last year when I had him, he had this fluid (its name escapes me) that would make big flammable bubbles in mid air, so he made a bubble with it, let it float for a little bit, then picked up this girls notebook and held it above the bubble and lit it. It was seriously awesome.

Matt? 10-24-2006 08:42 PM
I like how one of the other guys comes in with the deep yell of it.
i don't really like that part. it just sounds too rediculous for me.

ps. ben wow. please inform the captain etc... is really awesome. just heard em.

mike kirsch has never failed me.

World Burns To Death 10-24-2006 09:41 PM

Die Hoffnung full-length, you'll **** bricks..

SunnyDayRealEstateAM 10-25-2006 10:30 AM

My English teacher listens to Grindcore and calls Converge "too slow and pussy" for him. Badass.

RetiredAt21 10-25-2006 11:35 AM

Yeah, I like Converge but...

GRINDCORE >>>>>>>> Converge

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 12:43 PM

Heaviest band ever = Converge

bottlerocket 10-25-2006 01:04 PM

Nah.

Converge = heavy and br00tal but not heaviest ever

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 01:12 PM

When someone shows me a heavier band than Converge, I'll admit it.

I have yet to hear it.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 02:08 PM

If anyone's interested, I made a Blackpool Lights thread in Pop-Punk...
No, why do you ask?
You're a pretty big guy. I would have estimated you at about 21.

whiteminority 10-25-2006 02:56 PM

Hahahaha, I get that a lot.
When someone shows me a heavier band than Converge, I'll admit it.

You need to be introduced to the world of doom and sludge.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:13 PM

Uh. I'm game with doom and sludge.

Listening to Jane Doe, I find it hard to believe there is a more intense band.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 03:17 PM

Dillinger Escape Plan, maybe? DEP's live show was about 100 times more intense and brutal than Converge's.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:18 PM

lol. DEP isn't brutal at all.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 03:19 PM

What?

whiteminority 10-25-2006 03:20 PM

Heavy and intense are different.

Candlemass is way heavier than Gospel, but Gospel is exponentially more intense.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 03:21 PM

Facedownin**** are pretty heavy. I don't really consider Converge "heavy", just really chaotic.

whiteminority 10-25-2006 03:22 PM

Facedowninshit fucking rule.

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:23 PM

Well, okay. They're the most INTENSE band ever.

I guess stuff like Esoteric is heavier, but Converge is probably the band most likely to piss off your parents.

cobert 10-25-2006 03:25 PM

I like that description, 'band most likely to piss off your parents'.

AndreTheHyena 10-25-2006 03:28 PM

I think bands like Slipknot are a lot more likely to piss off parents than Converge. And I stand by saying that DEP were more intense than Converge.
Facedowninshit fucking rule.
Yessss. Do you have Shit Bloody Shit, by any chance?

pixiesfanyo 10-25-2006 03:30 PM

lol.

have you even heard DEP's Miss Machine?

it's like Pattonesque POP.

CONVERGE is just.. DUN DUN RAH RAH for an hour straight.

Plus on Jane Doe, they ****ing just have like SOUND under the mix of insturments.

It's ridic.
