We should have a Classic Rock thread favorite song list.
|
Steve Miller Band
Steve Miller is one of my favorite Classic rock bands.... even though he was considered "pop" in the 70's.
Queen, Led Zeppelin, George Thorogood, The Who, Clapton/Cream... All awesome, but Steve Miller is on top of my playlist right now :) -Nate |

what do you mean? like a list posted inside of the classic rock thread? would we vote, or how does it happen? |

I went through a huge steve miller band phase after i got a few of their records. even though im not a big fan of "best of" albums, their's is definitly the best. good picks for bands too. whats your favourite steve miller song? |
yea, we would just name um up. classic Rock or not, but we'd all have to agree.
Like with Fire on the Mountain. |
I don't think a top classic rock songs list is that good an idea. Bands is alright because there are only about 80 really obvious bands. But songs would be too hard.
And steve miller=teh coo  |

Like with Fire on the Mountain.
fair enough. so when are we gonna start this? will we need a mod to do anything? i think this is a good idea. |
No, it's in the thread.
|
With JPJ out of the way, now is the perfect time to nominate Achilles Last Stand.
Badmoon I know your not a fan at all, but with 100 songs you have to expect a few Zeppelin ones. |
No one ever said 100.
And a few that we've all liked back in the day and know are... Phish - Julius The Grateful Dead - Fire on the Mountain |

It wouldn't be voted on. We all saw what happend with the best band poll, and currently the blues rock poll. It would be Stairway, Iron Man, and 98 AC/DC songs. |

If we wanted to do a poll, we could make a "songs not to include list" aswell, with Stairway, Iron Man, and Ac/Dc songs on there. We would have to deal with the "OMG wer iS stAirwAy 2 hEaveN?!?" kids, but I think it would be worth it. |
No, I don't think any of you are gettin' it.
Let's just come up with some songs WE (In this thread) like, and virtually are fans of. They don't even have to be Classic Rock. |

Yes^
*1st post of the day* |
I like the idea.
|
*Listining to Fire Mt*
*Is Happy :)* |
Agreed
1.Whipping Post We all ready have our 1st song |
I can sense that a few of you are going to ruin this.
|
so who's gonna be keeping track of these then?
|
why not let badmoon, it was his idea.
|
^Me? You? Badmoon?
|
why not let badmoon, it was his idea.
Go suck a railroad spike. I didn't think it'd be taken so seriously, so I'm not keeping track. We all have to agree on them, and don't sprout up random songs that you assume we all like. For instance, "Whipping Post". It's been known that most of us love "Fire on the Mountain", and when the site was first posted, the users who were ignorant to Phish loved "Julius". So, those would obviously be picks. |
^How is that different?
|

I think if we are going to do this we need to set some rules.
|
^How is that different?
The songs don't just spring up. Like... "I like "American Pie". Do you like "American Pie"? "Yes, I do like "American Pie". Add it to the list." They should have some kind of history in the thread. Which was my original idea, but do what you want with it. |

Use more harmful advice, eg "Drink a tall glass of bleach" or "Play Russian Roulette with an assault rifle". Also, if we're going to go by your system, the entire ****ing list would be Grateful Dead songs, because that's all everybody seems to talk about in this thread. |
