I just started listening to Slowdive. They're really good.
Vincent Gallo - When
His music is pretty nice, but I can't get over how big of a prick this guy really is. He disgusts me. A narcissist, racist, and bigot - what's not to love?
Sometimes I think it's all just a big act. Either way, that album is good.

asymm 08-17-2006 11:25 AM
I wonder how he got on Warp records.
Not sure. Maybe he discussed his penis size and how great George Dub was - and they were so impressed with his childishly blatant rebellion he was allowed in. Who knows. His music and movies are (except - Brown Bunny sucks) pretty good, which is frustrating because of how much I dislike his personality. I want to like the artists behind the work.

Zmev 08-18-2006 06:04 PM

Living Colour - Vivid

They were way better than one hit wonder status, and this cd proves it.

Happymeal 08-18-2006 07:31 PM

David Sylvian

I've been listening to some songs from Secrets of the Beehive and his work with Nine Horses. This guy has the nicest voice.

Tokyo Jihen - Adult

I'm expecting tomorrow's 900 mile car ride to include a substantial amount of Guided by Voices, Lambchop, and Silver Jews, along with tons of Sirius radio. Wish me luck...please.

Butthole Surfers - Blind Eye Sees All DVD

Those were some crazy dudes (and lady). Very impressive concert footage and some hilarious interviews.

Mm, that sucks, I'm going on a 400 mile ride tomorrow, but I'm planning on digging some Mew and Gang of Four. Maybe a little Garbage.

The Great Decay 08-19-2006 12:38 PM

Zappa 08-19-2006 02:18 PM

I wonder if people that aren't synth nuts can listen to Gary Numan for anything but nostalgic purposes.

Can - Ege Bamyasi

The Frugal Gourmet 08-19-2006 05:16 PM

Brian Jonestown Massacre - Tepid Peppermint Wonderland
Beirut - Gulag Orkestrar

both great in different ways. Pick up the Beirut album if you'd be into an old-world Rufus Wainwright with an accordion.

Will do. I bought Treasure yesterday. I listened to it and fell asleep. It's not how I expected it to sound, but I'm liking it. I talked with my teacher about music for a while yesterday and we talked about Antony and the Johnsons and The National, I've been digging them as well.

These Arms Are Snakes - Easter

BillCosby 08-19-2006 07:44 PM

I've heard some songs off the new Outkast album, and they weren't bad, but "Morris Brown" kicks ass.

metalicajaymz 08-19-2006 08:08 PM

new Basement Jaxx song is cool ("Hush Boy").

Tangy zizzle 08-19-2006 09:08 PM

Why'd you get banned this time?

Tangy zizzle 08-19-2006 09:55 PM

New Hold Steady track "Chips ahoy!". It's pretty solid, though as little patchy. Same HS-type stuff (big guitars, story-ish vocal) vut with a ton of keys/organs thrown in.

metalicajaymz 08-20-2006 12:31 AM

I'm really diggin' Sea and the Rhythm by Iron & Wine

Snakefinger - Manual Of Errors

Part of the reason that the residents are no longer good is because of his death. Even though he wasn't technically part of the band, he definitely helped make the band. His solo stuff is just as good, too.
