i was reading a review of the album In Through the Out Door, and the guy rated it 1/5. i actually love that song, it's so fun and uplifting. i think it's one of the best songs from the album.
I saw that and told him what he had done.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 11:18 AM

did you know dylan did a version of that song "man of constant sorrow," i actually think the Soggy Bottom Boys or whoever actually sang it in the movie, did it better.

and way to tell him livewired.

Woodstock 12-23-2004 11:55 AM

I don't have that soundtrack, I heard it was good.

What songs are on it?

jpj 12-23-2004 11:57 AM

That's a pretty good movie, but I've only heard that one song from the soundtrack.

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 11:58 AM
Rock, which Polyphonic Spree song did I give you?
hypocracy hater 12-23-2004 12:03 PM

Digging through me Vinyl i realise that led Zep stole half of their lyrics.

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 12:09 PM

10% is more like it.

And you just realised this now?

hypocracy hater 12-23-2004 12:13 PM

My mom got the soundtrack to the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou" from one of her co-workers. It's pretty good. Has anyone seen that movie/ heard the soundtrack?
That song "O Death" is pretty damn cool.

Broken Arrow 12-23-2004 12:41 PM
That song "O Death" is pretty damn cool.
It sure is.

There is also a really good acoustic song. It is "I'm a man Of Constant Sorrow" but done all on acoustic with no singing. It's by Norman Blake or something.

Done After the Goldrush! THe Reveiw.

it's not stealing, it's borrowing. don't get me started on this.

k i'm sure we've talked about this before, and there have been threads made...but what is everyones favourite led zeppelin song?

i'd have to say Hey Hey What Can I Do, Gallows Pole, or Since I've Been Loving You.

JonG 12-23-2004 01:27 PM

Hey Hey What Can I Do, That's The Way, Over The Hills and Far Away, Bring It On Home

Broken Arrow 12-23-2004 01:29 PM

It changes ever so much but at the time being I say In My Time of Dying, Bring it on Home, When the Levee Breaks and That's The Way.

keep on phishin' 12-23-2004 01:29 PM

Bring It on Home and Kashmir

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 01:59 PM

i prefer their acoustic stuff, but i like it when they play blues songs as well.

does anyone know if Syd Barret was actually a good guitar player? i've heard people say he was amazing, but i've never heard anything too dazzling by him. can anyone clear this up for me and maybe give me a few songs that might showcase his playing?

jpj 12-23-2004 01:59 PM

MY favorite Zep song changes every week. Right now I'm gonna have to go with Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You.

jasmin 12-23-2004 02:06 PM

best

stariway to heaven, thankyou, black dog, whole lotta love, babe im gonna leave you

RadialOpium 12-23-2004 02:07 PM

my music interest changed a lot over the years from rap to that gothic **** then I started listening to classic rock with everything from the 60s 70s and 80s and I've never been happier

RCA 12-23-2004 02:07 PM

Favorite Zep song = Kashmir

Mister_Che 12-23-2004 02:08 PM
Favorite Zep song = Kashmir
Amen to that :thumb:

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 02:11 PM

hey jasmin you accidently put Best when it should have been Favourite. Don't get the two confused.

and way to go RadialOpium, what are some of your favourite bands? (classic rock bands of course)

Jam2Me 12-23-2004 02:15 PM

Going to California, Tangerine, and Over the Hills and Far Away

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 02:18 PM

Good god, guys. You know how i get when you talk about Led Zeppelin in the thread

What's everyone's favorite song by Cream? Mine has to be sunshine of your love. That's such a great song, it's hard to deny.

jpj 12-23-2004 02:21 PM

God there's so many.

Sunshine of Your Love, Crossroads, Tales of Brave Ulysess, Politician, and so many others.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 02:21 PM

haha, the second i mentioned zeppelin about a hundred noobs show up.

i actually don't really have a favourite song by cream. i like so many of their songs. they didn't have enough time to start making bad music together. Sunshine of Your Love is probably their definitive song though, so i may have to say that.

edit- and sometimes i get confused over whether i'm hearing Cream or Claptons solo career/other bands he's been in.

Jam2Me 12-23-2004 02:23 PM

I sunno why but I can't seem to get into Cream head over heels, obviously Sunshine of Your Love but other then that I'm not really into it, I 'm not crazy about the vocals I think that's the main reason. I think they do "White Room" and I like that one.

jpj 12-23-2004 02:27 PM

Yea, the do White Room. What have you heard by them?

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 02:28 PM

The White Room's an awesome song too.

Actually, most Cream songs are awesome.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 02:29 PM

well they were definitely all musicians before they were singers. i think they all just picked up singing along the way, it was never something they never intended on doing seriously. clapton ain't a bad singer though. i actually like his voice.

keep on phishin' 12-23-2004 02:31 PM

I really like Sunshine of Your Love and Tales of Brave Ulysses

Broken Arrow 12-23-2004 02:36 PM

What review should I do next boys?

It's weird how Mx wants to change the C.D. Review forum into a knew site but I think It sounds like a pretty good idea.

EDIT: Myu favourite Cream song is Sweet Wine right now.

Jam2Me 12-23-2004 02:45 PM
Yea, the do White Room. What have you heard by them?
White Room, Sunshine of Your Love, Tales of Brave Ulysses, and Strange Brew. That's about it.
And is it weird that I love Derek & The Dominoes and I'm not like crazy about Cream?

jpj 12-23-2004 03:04 PM

Listen to Disraeli Gears or The Very Best of Cream.

slowhand 12-23-2004 03:04 PM

Cream is the creme de la creme!!!

Okay, I'll leave now, I've finished my ranting.

BludgeonySteve 12-23-2004 03:07 PM

Hehe, clever ^
