is it true that the deeper you go into the usa the farther back in time it goes

RouteOne 11-17-2010 07:36 PM
is it true that the deeper you go into the usa the farther back in time it goes
Its not as black and white as a lot of people think. For example, going to south/southwest Pennsylvania is like driving into Alabama.

swaginator 11-17-2010 07:36 PM

why yes, while burrowing through the ground you will encounter various layers in the sediment that represent certain periods of time, getting older the farther you dig

Anglachel 11-17-2010 07:37 PM

so the country is just spotted with small time rifts rather than one big one

swaginator 11-17-2010 07:38 PM

they're like cute little newfoundlands

GO I LOVE SCIENCE
The article didn't go in to enough detail to warrant excitement about understanding it, tbh. I was reading the article hoping it would go into more detail about how it worked.

NemesisDivina 11-17-2010 07:44 PM

northern wisconsin is like driving through the fucking 70's again
they're like cute little newfoundlands
oh my god

so my dad's going even crazier i guess, he made my mom sleep on the floor last night (she has a really fucked up back), and he just barged into the basement (where my room is) and flipped out on me because the lights on the other side of the basement weren't on. He was saying shit like I unscrewed all the light bulbs and shit, but in reality he just forgot to flip a switch... like uhhhhh.

So yeah, cannot wait to go out.

Also, finally found my glasses.
