Oh, I've seen those girls, they go to all the meetings and stuff.
|
they are nice but they listen to terrible music.

That's usually more preferrable than terrible people who listen to good music.

I'm a terrible person that listens to good music.

I am a nice person :):)
today was good, picked up a Ricky Gervais stand up DVD along with Chinatown. I was oh so close to getting the new Dirty Three DVD too. I think I'll get it eventually. |
I kind of want to pull an all-nighter reading the David Sedaris book my dad got me, but I kind of don't want to sleep through the normal people's awake hours, as I'd like to see friends I haven't seen in a few days.
Decisions, Decisions. |
I got new shoes for Christmas but I had to swap them because they were too big. I took them back and because of some sale that was going on I managed to walk out with an extra pair of shoes and two pairs of socks without paying anything.
|
thats pretty sweet

Nice one br3ad. I am returning most of the clothes I got for xmas, hopefully I can get some good dealz as well.
today I am reluctantly finishing my application for university which means a night full of music and refreshing this forum every couple of minutes instead of actually doing my application. |
What are you planning to do at uni?
|
My main choice is Philosophy and Politics at Glasgow university. Most of my others are similar, mainly to do with social sciences. Hopefully I'll move to the west end when I'm there (if I get accepted).
|
Oh cool, when I finish high school I plan to apply to Glasgow uni and move to the west end (always hated being stuck in the suburbs).
|
yeah I know, the areas I've lived in my whole life are just crap. Full of "neds", lots of fights and nothing at all to do. I can't wait to get into the city.
|
Well I live in Erskine (Erskine Bridge, next to the River Clyde) and it's really just full of simple people with nothing going on. I want to move to the city when I'm older and meet cultured and interesting people which is the thing my life lacks.
|
exactly.
I've lived in Shettleston and Airdrie (both east of glasgow) and it's exactly the same. Airdrie is completely devoid of any culture, and the town centre has nothing of any interest at all - just hair salons, tanning shops, betting shops, and bars full of 40+ drunks. I can get on well enough with most people here, even the neds, but these people live the most boring and routine lives. That said, I have a good circle of friends who are cool, and we have fairly similar interests and we think the same way. But to really enjoy our lives we can't stay in Airdrie much longer. Do you know what you want to do at Uni? |
Well I only have about two people who I talk to that really interest me and one of them doesn't even go to my school. But I suppose that's what happens in high school, no one has any unique views on anything.
And I'm thinking of journalism or literature, something along those lines. |
I met a guy in 1st year who I became good friends with, and he got me into punk music. All his friends were like 3 years older than us, and I started hanging out with all of them and we would just sit around and listen to NOFX all day. That was pretty much the only people I liked for a long time, except for a few old friends from primary school. I'm kind of glad I was such a dork back in early high school because I probably wouldn't be as into music now, otherwise.
I considered doing journalism as well. Being some sort of music/film/sports journalist would be perfect for me, but I did philosophy at college this year and I'm loving it so I chose that. |
Most of my friends are people older than me, I do talk to people in my year but only really in class. Though tbh, the only person who has similar music taste to me was my ex-best friend and ex-band mate but he's a complete idiot now (stoned all the time). I was a recluse for the last two years of primary school and first few years of high school and I pretty much based my life on music which is probably why my music tastes matured a lot earlier than everyone else my age.
I wouldn't mind being music or film journalist, I wouldn't write for tabloids though since I would need to dumb down what I say just so the average muck on the street understands it. |
