You meen Best Made Tacos of the Earth. :D
http://opethtacos.ytmnd.com/
So thats the concept of that album.... |
its kinda dumb how popular opeth is now of days. they basically went from unknown to headlining summer festivals.
|
Yeah just last year i was introducing my friends to the bands .. Now days I dont have to ask anyone new I meet if they heard of opeth.
So ... I was thinking Whats opeths Worst/Least Best album? |
doesnt worst mean least best? redundant?
Worst - Deliverance Best - MAYH or Still Life |
I know .. but when if I say only worst there will be some smart *** who says "they have no worst album". I just wanted to avoid that.
|
I dunno there are albums that I prefer over others, but I can't pin down a worst album.
Best would have to Morningrise for me. |
yea, in lamentations mikael described morningrise as their best album. there are elements to every album i like.
maybe deliverance is better than ghost reveries. |
Best album....extremely hard to say. My FAVORITE would be Still Life, but most of their albums are in the running. Worst would have to be Orchid...bad production, weak, amateurish, sloppy songwriting, acoustic parts far less interesting than even on Morningrise...yeah.
|
My opinion of which album is best is always in constant rotation, but lately I've been listening to Morningrise the least. I'm pretty sure that I like Orchid better than Morningrise (except for BRI)...
I don't know, this opinion will be invalid a week from now... |
Still life, is my favorite album.
It's a damned story! I always spend the hour listening to the whole album, first to last. It's an experience, not a CD. |
Yes, I love that album. Every song is amazing.
|
http://ytmnd.com/list/?search=opeth This is some of the best stuff i've ever seen.
ROFL! Clitoris race! The picture that accompanies "I'm fixing a pair of Jeans" is so class My favourite Opeth ALBUMS are Still Life, Damnation, Ghost Reveries and My Arms, Your Hearse. Blackwater Park has some of my favourite Opeth songs on it, Deliverance has two great Opeth songs on it, Morningrise also has two very good Opeth songs on it, Orchid isn't really to my tastes.. I think due to production and their songwriting ability at that point. |
yea, in lamentations mikael described morningrise as their best album.
No he didn't. He said that some people consider it to be their master work. And then said that there are parts of it that he can't even bear to listen to anymore. |
I like Ghost Reveries and Deliverance about the same. Still Life and Morning Rise are my favorites.
|
Favourites: Still Life and MAYH.
Least favourite: Orchid |
Favourite: Still Life
Least Favourite: Morningrise |
I still maintain my favorite is Blackwater Park...everything just blends together so well on that album...
Least favorite might have to be My Arms, Your Hearse. Not really sure why, it just doesn't appeal to me... |
I used to think it was weak, but seriously, just overall as an album it's amazing. Concept like Still Life, in fact, I see it as a slightly weaker Still Life really, except its darker and colder, and muddier. And the clean sections have more obvious 70's prog leanings with the effects used and such.
I just love the atmosphere of it now. |

Least favorite might have to be My Arms, Your Hearse. Not really sure why, it just doesn't appeal to me...
My thoughts exactly. MAYH, while not being bad, is just not as epic and wonderful as their other releases. and yeah, BWP meshes so well together that I can listen to it all the way through countless times and never get tired of it. It's my favorite metal album of all time. |
Weird, MAYH is my favorite. It really, really affects me.
|
Everyone has different opinions about Opeth, so I wouldn't say you're wrong. The band has something for everyone so I can see if you like that album most.
The song that really blows my mind in terms of emotional greatness is "To Bid You Farewell". I don't know if I've heard a more beautiful song. |
Yeah, that song is amazing. By the way, I think I should become a reg in this thread, as I am a pretty big Opeth fanboy, haha.
|
Yeah man, the more the merrier. I'm trying to become a regular in here too, seeing as how Opeth is my favorite metal band.
|
:D This thread kinda dies down during the day at times. It'll be better with more people.
Favorite: MAYH Least Fave:Orchid. Little flow in the album. |
I love Orchid... I can't even defend why, I just get such an amazing feeling listening to that album, that I get with no other Opeth. I'm not saying it's my favorite, but I like it alot.
|
I wish I got it. I've tried to like it, and sadly I don't feel it. :(
|
When those acoustic lines kick in on any of the songs... I just forget all my troubles. :) And I don't care how amaturish the songs sound, those acoustic parts...
/drools |
The stuff sounds cool, I just don't feel the songs.
Stupid brain! |
The parts are great, I just dont really like the flow. One song seems like ten in one.
Its just my opinion though. |
Forest of October is one of my favorites. That one riff is just amazzzzing.
