You and me both. You really need some stars dude, you are one of the few good posters without stars.

thickasabrick 12-22-2004 11:41 PM

i thought i had stars :upset: ...unless i lost them recently.

and i made the top forty posters!!!! some of you must have placed me relatively high because i dont think anyone else out of this thread knows who i am really.

edit- no, they are certainly there!

jpj 12-22-2004 11:42 PM

Guitrguy, what are you talking about? He has stars.

gmoneyguy 12-22-2004 11:47 PM

o shiii... I have white background. Last i saw he didn't. But congrat on your stars.

thickasabrick 12-22-2004 11:47 PM

oh crazy guitrguy...

off topic: tonight me and my friends went to mcdonalds, and the girl working there was like hey you guys put away your garbage, and we say no..and she's like if you don't put that away, i'm going to get my boyfriend to beat you all up, you're lucky he's on house arrest.

some people really aggravate me.

anyone know the name of that band who sings the song Switching to Glide? or whatever it's called?

gmoneyguy 12-22-2004 11:49 PM

When did you get your stars?

jpj 12-22-2004 11:51 PM

I think The Kings sing Switching to Glide, but I'm not sure.

thickasabrick 12-22-2004 11:53 PM
I think The Kings sing Switching to Glide, but I'm not sure.
oh right that's who it was. i kept thinking The Kinks and i was certain it wasn't them

and i got my stars today, thanks for the congrats.

and it's a shame Slowhand got voted 121 on the top 40 thing. he's a much better poster than half the guys on there, he just doesn't come on a lot. anyone else put him on their list?

gmoneyguy 12-22-2004 11:55 PM

gmoneyguy 12-23-2004 12:32 AM

You crazy Canucks!

magicbus 12-23-2004 12:32 AM

Good Neil song. Its 1:30 here too and I'm very tired. I wouldn't have made the top 40 if you guys didn't vote for me. Thanks :thumb:

Against Miik! 12-23-2004 12:33 AM

We never really talked about playing classic rock, which is kinda wierd since we are all musicians. What are your favorite songs to play? I've been playin Ohio, even though I can't find a good tab, so it's mostly from ear, and Hotel California, along with anything that has a wah in it, so a lot of Cream and Hendrix.

Blackbird, A day in the Life, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Tears In Heaven, Layla

I need to learn My Sweet Lord.
Blackbird, A day in the Life, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Tears In Heaven, Layla

do you play acoustic guitar?

gmoneyguy 12-23-2004 12:41 AM

Ya, Kinda obvious huh?

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 12:52 AM

i'm an acoustic guy, mainly bluegrass though. but it's always fun to play along with some folk/classic rock.

today i actually decided to pick up my electric (dust it off) and learn Time by Pink Floyd. It's such an emotional solo i just wanna cream my pants, so i just had to learn it. Then i got sidetracked with a song i was writing on my organ so i never learned the end of the solo.

edit- i don't actually play a lot of real songs, except bluegrass songs. i prefer writing my own songs or just improvising.

gmoneyguy 12-23-2004 12:57 AM

Same here, I usually don't play my electric because my amp sucks (MG30DFX). MY acoustic has a good enough tone that I actually prefer it to my electric.

hey that's an insult. (i currently use a MG15DFX)

i'm actually shopping around for a DSL 100, but everywhere i go they try to rip me off. i'm gonna look for some when i go to Calgary after christmas.

Atleast you have the money for a new amp.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 01:17 AM
Atleast you have the money for a new amp.
that's true. if christmas and drugs don't get the best of me. i've spent so much money in the past month it's not even funny.

k do you guys like the Zeppelin song Hot Dog?
i was reading a review of the album In Through the Out Door, and the guy rated it 1/5. i actually love that song, it's so fun and uplifting. i think it's one of the best songs from the album.

gmoneyguy 12-23-2004 01:19 AM

I haven't heard it so I can't say.

thickasabrick 12-23-2004 01:41 AM
I haven't heard it so I can't say.
hm ok.

it's actually more umm..whats the word...i don't wanna say bluegrassy because it isn't like that. but close. most of their other songs had more of a rock or blues feel than this one, plus a few of their more folkish songs. this one is different than those. i can't find a good way to describe it.

but it's got some entertaining lyrics.

"i took her love at seventeen, a little late these days it seems"

jpj 12-23-2004 09:45 AM

Money, The Ocean, Black Dog, Aqualung, Ramble On, Dazed and Confused, and the very tiny portion of The Lemon Song I can play.

By the way I play bass.

Walrus Gumboot 12-23-2004 09:48 AM

The lemon song is all Bass... great bass song, also "what is and what should never be"

/looks outside and see's mass blizzard

Woodstock 12-23-2004 09:54 AM

We have a blizzard here too.

And it is north Ontario.

jpj 12-23-2004 09:56 AM

The weather here is so wierd. Last week it was like 50, but the beginning of this week we had like a high of 20. Now it's 40, but tomorrow we're going to have a high of 16.

Badmoon 12-23-2004 10:31 AM

Rock, which Polyphonic Spree song did I give you?

I meant were I live.

Neil was born and raised in Omeemee Ont. which is in the Northern part.

We got like a foot of snow last night, it's nuts.

My mom got the soundtrack to the movie "O Brother Where Art Thou" from one of her co-workers. It's pretty good. Has anyone seen that movie/ heard the soundtrack?
