You will not be disappointed.

The best part about seeing them, for me anyways, I just got to be in the same building as Opeth. Mikael Is great with the crowd. He makes jokes, and talks to the crowd and stuff.

Darkness 04-17-2006 09:07 PM

Yeah, being in the very presance of the band is just awesome. :)

eighty d 04-17-2006 09:13 PM

If at all possible, get to the show early and get a rail spot. Being on the rail made it the most incredible concert of my life. *shook hands with Mikael Stanne*

*...and caught one of Peter's picks*

Darkness 04-17-2006 09:14 PM

That is true...

/also shook with Mikael Stanne, and the guitar player.. the one with dreads... *name slips mind...*

Me too, but I shook peters hand instead catching his pick.

His dreads were intense

Crysiss 04-17-2006 09:56 PM

Id rather Shake hands with someone than catch a pick. Unless the pick is signed of course:D

Martin Henrikkson?

I'd do both, if possible. Shaking hands obviously means meeting the guy, but a pick is something I'd be able to keep as a mememto.

You mean the badass? ;)

He originally played bass on the first few albums, and now does half of the guitar solos and leads. Gotta love the guy. Plus, he looks like he belongs in a sci-fi movie.

Well, when DT came to Chicago, I chatted with Mikael and Anders Jivarp extensively, so PFFFFFTTTT. :p

Oh man, from what I've heard Mikael Stanne is the nicest guy ever.

I have a newfound love for Ghost Reveries now. I never really listened to it as close as i did with the other albums and just assumed it wasn't as good. But now i'd say it actually is about as good as their other albums. Its just very different.

Darkness 04-18-2006 04:15 PM
Martin Henrikkson?
That's correct.

And yeah Eleventeen, Mikael Stanne seems like an awesome guy. I could tell from the way he was talking to the crowd.

Its not a bad album at all, Its just more different than all the other opeth albums.
I loved maybe the 2nd or 3rd time i heard it.

Thor 04-18-2006 04:31 PM

Does anyone know if there are any videos on the internet of Opeth playing anything off of Morningrise, Still Life, or Blackwater Park? If so, could you post it on here. Thanks.

Jude 04-18-2006 05:49 PM

There was some video of them playing Advent and Godhead's Lament (as well as 3 later songs) at some festival. I can't seem to find the link though.

Stormrider 04-18-2006 06:37 PM

Search it on youtube if you havn't. I'm just saying this, I havn't searched it.
