Well, you should definetly have American Beauty, and maybe even the the Live Dead album.

BludgeonySteve 11-12-2004 10:57 PM

I have American Beauty, obviously.

I'm a sucker for oxymorons so i'll get live dead.

Yeah, look at Badmoon's review of it if you haven't already.

lunch998 11-12-2004 10:59 PM

You should get either Live at Winterland or Europe 72', though. 4-disc live sets are awesome.

Stonefree 11-12-2004 10:59 PM
ok ok, i admit it, i'm a classic rock nut. i love led zeppelin, the beatles, the who, eric clapton, the doors, and so on. most of the bands i listen to broke up years before i was born. at 17, nearly every song on my playlist is older than me. but is it just my imagination, or is classic rock experiencing sort of a revival. i am running into an increasing number of classic rock fans my age. at my school (an all boys high school), the school newspaper took a poll of everyone's favorite genre and band. led zeppeling got 5th and the beatles got 6th, behind that rap crap. classic rock made up a large percent of ppls favorite genre. is this just by me, or are other ppl noticing this too?

This is now a Classic Rock Discussion thread!
Man I love classic rock too.

AC/DC
Led Zeppelin
Black Sabbath
Jimi Hendrix
and Pink Floyd.

haha ya! but I like it, it's cool. and that random 2:00 silence leading up to the track which isn't even on the track listings.

BludgeonySteve 11-12-2004 11:14 PM

Ha, yeah. Old yeller is awesome (in a bad sort of way).

Ahh, you know what i'm sayin'? yeah :)

RockAndRoll 11-12-2004 11:15 PM

Stonefree 11-12-2004 11:16 PM
i consider the beatles rock n roll, not really hard rock...nonetheless, a great band though.
Led Zep and AC/DC are rock \m/

Badmoon 11-12-2004 11:17 PM

Classic rock usually requires a rockin' solo. So maybe just get your guitarists to practise alot. Then learn an ac/dc song with a medium speed solo or something.

The Beatles were pop at first, but they kind of forged their own genre later in their career.

Sumed it up right there.

I don't really care what they are. From start to finish they were brilliant.

ya we've been just playin zeppelin songs...well except for the guitar part, i was suprised how much bass is in there though because u don't much miss the guitar in quite a few of the songs except for solos. But hey I'll tell them to start practin some AC/DC, thx

RockAndRoll 11-12-2004 11:28 PM

Is there any particular subgenre of classic rock you are interested in?

BludgeonySteve 11-12-2004 11:30 PM

Looks like he's into hard rock.

Don't do a well known ac/dc song and don't go a Brain Johnson one. <my advice.

SonorKen 11-12-2004 11:36 PM

Stonefree. I told you if you guys created new accounts and started spammin I was going to nail you. You think I was kidding? I havent decided what to do with you 2. Check back tomm and find out.

Yep, I definetly agree. And the fact that the music is still brilliant 40 years later is even more impressive.

Badmoon 11-13-2004 12:14 AM

This boxset owns, and I also bought...

Garcia & Grisman - Been all around this World.

Woodstock 11-13-2004 08:35 AM

Badmoon 11-13-2004 10:22 AM
