is there an article in guitar world with alexi? i thinik i saw somewhere that said that
I beleive the most recent one was April, but then again, Alexi isn't really one to play everything perfectly everytime live is he.

gmoneyguy 04-28-2006 02:14 PM
thats what i'm looking forward ... i hope in some years i will look back and will say: "it was worth it, practising so much" :D
THe progress is gradual, but its noticeable. When I started classical guitar I didn't it was helping that much, but I jammed out with a friend who I hadn't seen in awhile and he commented on how much I had improved on guitar.

kurrpt 04-28-2006 02:26 PM

devil music...

you have to be my current favorite poster

repcak 04-28-2006 02:49 PM

the only improvement i see on the metronome :p

i now played for one hour and realized that i increased speed on most licks i was playing up to 20bpm!!
the one run you posted xxpages ago, Mitch, i was able to play at 60bpm clean, now i 'm suddenly up to 85bpm.
a sweep arpeggio i can play now at 100bpm, last week 80bpm :D

now i have a new goal: in 2months (summer)i plan to buy a new guitar + record stuff. i have 2months time to learn swamphell at 110bpm, then i will record it :thumb:

kurrpt 04-28-2006 02:51 PM

see how quickly your mood changes :D

the BEST thing ive learned is to stop caring about the BPM #, and more about your task at hand

I'm Charming 04-28-2006 02:56 PM

I'm rather sloppy or perfect. Depends on how I feel when I'm playing.

Sometimes I'll jam and try to keep it tight n perfect.

Sometimes, I'll just be hella sloppy.

When I'm learning stuff. I start at a crawl and work the speed up over a few hours.

He played those fine at my show.

It was really sweet during the Bodom Beach Terror/ Bodom After Midnight preformance,,,

Alexi was doing the Bodom Beach Terror solo and he was holding his guitar at this really odd angle. haha. It was funny.

MRDuCran 04-28-2006 08:25 PM

Alexi has that new pose where he throws his guitar over his knee and props his foot up on the monitor, he must practise like that at home or something 'cause that's a fukkin weird angle to play at.

HAIL TRUE METAL 04-28-2006 09:44 PM

i got a vid of alexi messing up on swinging his guitar. is there a way i can upload it to the forums?

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 04-28-2006 09:45 PM

You don't need help.

I've been digging SW & HCDR lately. I've really into FTR over the last few days.

I started listen to HCDR alot because I've been keeping my guitar in DGCFAD since I'm learning Lord Abortion (CoF). I've taken advantage and vastly improved what I know of Bodom Beach Terror and I plan on learning more of that soon.

EDIT: Song wise: hmm. Red Light In My Eyes 1 & 2. Everytime I die, Bodom After Midnight, Bodom Beach Terror & Needled 24/7.

I've been working on getting that intro solo/lead back to where I used to have it. ^^ On needled that is.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 04-28-2006 10:40 PM

Sounds cool i mostly just listen to the same songs over and over again among others from different bands or people

I've been doing that with Past Shadows By Agathodaimon.

I mostly listen to full albums though. Unless it's just a fav song or I like one part/riff/sweep/solo alot.

Lil’ Bloodred Ridin’ Hood 04-28-2006 10:47 PM

I really need to get a guitar and learn what you guys are talking about :upset: but it sounds intresting lol, good luck to you :)
