I'm digging Veruca Salt and Garbage right now. Where the hell has my masculinity gone?
Masculinity?

JonM 08-15-2006 02:17 PM

Touché.

mr_jackalope 08-15-2006 02:22 PM

Don't worry JonM, I listen to Cat Power all the time and am still bursting forth with the prescence and masculinity of a young Brando.

And DMD, that Serena-Maneesh album is damn spotty. Some good songs, yes, but weak overall.

mr_jackalope 08-15-2006 02:23 PM

Today is another Lambchop day. Maybe some 70s Beach Boys too (Sunflower and Surf's Up, specifically).

Zappa 08-15-2006 02:30 PM

I go through days and weeks where all I listen to is Liz Phair, Patti Smith, Dresden Dolls, Cocteau Twins, and Feist.

masada 08-15-2006 02:31 PM

patti smith isn't that feminine though

Well_Respected_Man 08-15-2006 02:58 PM
I go through days and weeks where all I listen to is Liz Phair, Patti Smith, Dresden Dolls, Cocteau Twins, and Feist.
I got this rare Liliput/Kleenex thing that's apparently worth hundreds of dollars. I riot pawned you grrrrrrl.

Rejd 08-15-2006 03:15 PM

Death Cab For Cutie - Plans
Kaizers Orchestra - Evig pint
Youth Group - Casino Twilight Dogs

JonM 08-15-2006 03:37 PM

Yeah, I'm all about the Feist and Cat Power. But like, I listen to Ani religiously. I feel like there has to be a point where this becomes a problem.

asymm 08-15-2006 04:23 PM

Talk Talk - It's My Life

I downloaded that months ago, poopstick.

asymm 08-15-2006 04:30 PM

Talk Talk - Laughing Stock
This album always brings me to tears. I can't believe it's the same new romantic band from a few years ago.

masada 08-15-2006 04:35 PM

not really

but it's pretty damn awesome

asymm 08-15-2006 04:41 PM

It's pretty close to being the best.

YDload 08-15-2006 05:13 PM

Is Goat by The Jesus Lizard a 5/5 album? I'm beginning to think so. Also, Duane Denison belongs on that A/I top guitarists list I've been meaning to intiate.

masada 08-15-2006 05:15 PM

it's more like a 4/5

dimes make dummies

YDload 08-15-2006 05:16 PM
yeah I'd say so. Except it has a bad song so more like 4.5.
What's the bad song? I can't find one that I'd rate below a 4, except maybe the last one.

Little Man being Erased 08-15-2006 06:13 PM
I got a pack with Real Life and Secondhand Daylight for $10, you should see if you can do the same.
Damn, where was that from? I downloaded Real Life and The Correct Use of Soap but I'd still like to buy that.
Are Cursive good live? I'm considering seeing them but I'm trying to keep my money, so yeah what to do?
I would definitely go see them if I had the chance. But I guess that doesn't answer your question.

Dog 08-15-2006 06:40 PM
"Karpis", song sucks.
no way. that's one of my favorites on the album.

Liar is better.

No way, it's awesome. Very creepy, I love the guitar riff.

superpeer 08-15-2006 07:30 PM

Getting really into Belle and Sebastian lately, I've been missing out.

mr_jackalope 08-15-2006 08:09 PM

B&S are about the most obnoxious musical group in history.

Tangy zizzle 08-15-2006 09:07 PM

That Isobel is a peach though.

Digs;

Wires on Fire - Wires on Fire (it's really good, but not great - after 2 spins)
Dimmer - There My Dear
Refused - The Shape of Punk To Come
The Buzzcocks - Flat Pack Philosophy

The Great Decay 08-15-2006 09:49 PM

Bonnie 'Prince' Billy - I See A Darkness
Wolf Parade - Apologies To The Queen Mary
Thom Yorke - The Eraser

Little Man being Erased 08-15-2006 10:03 PM

The Great Decay 08-15-2006 10:10 PM
oh i need to get I See a Darkness
Dear god. Best sad album of album of all time.

*gibson blueshawk
I would actually buy this (is it black?) if you were in NZ.

sr800bkBassist 08-16-2006 01:04 AM
I would actually buy this (is it black?) if you were in NZ.
yup, black.
hahahaha yeah, shipping from California to New Zealand would probably cost as much as the guitar itself (exageration, but still pricey).

Tangy zizzle 08-16-2006 01:12 AM

Oooooh sex. Man, I would so nab that if I could.

Bastard, you should keep it.

asymm 08-16-2006 01:18 AM
I have that on my computer, but I've never listened to it. Should I?
Definitely yes. It's a tremendously powerful and moving work. Far and beyond as Oldham's best work.

The latter half of today's intrigues:
Supersilent - 1
Sonic Youth - Sister
William Basinski - Disintegration Loops I
Deathprod - 6-track
Oooooh sex. Man, I would so nab that if I could.

i love it very much. the problem is i got stuck between whether i should sell that or my gretsch (i need to sell a bunch of stuff to save up for moving out) and i love my gretsch wayyy too much. like if i ever wanted something like the gretsch i'd have to sell out over $1000, almost $2000. but another blueshawk would be easy.
